I started studying in July for the September LSAT, worked my way through the games section of my book (Nova's Master the LSAT, which I'm pretty happy with), took a hiatus for various reasons (obviously didn't take the September test) and have picked the book up again in the last week to study for the December LSAT which I'm registered for. I have taken two practice LSATS (from 10 More Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests), one two months ago and one two days ago, and I got a 164 on each (both timed).
How much do you think its feasible that I improve before the December test? I'm planning on studying around 2-3 hours a day from now on (which I'll stay committed to since I'm freaking out).
I also want to get another book since I'm almost done with the one I have. What book do ya'll suggest I buy? The logical reasoning questions are BY FAR the hardest for me, and unfortunately they count for the most as there are two sections of them (I get about 70-75% of these questions right, compared to 85-90% in the other two sections).
Thank you so much for your help!

The Powerscore Logic Games Bible has really helped me understand the questions and to a degree have fun with them. Can't say enough about that book. I know they have two other books but I haven't heard anything about them and I'm not sure if I should pick them up.

Don't waste your time with LSAT for Dummies. I have that book too and it just confused the hell outta me. Total FAIL with that book lol.

I'm great on the games, what I actually need to study more is the logical reasoning portion, the part with arguments and super-short passages (not the reading comprehension portion). Is powerscore the way to go for this too?

The good news is that your hardest section is the games - which is also the most learnable for most people. Go through your old tests and recalculate your score as if you didn't miss any LR. If you put serious time into your studying, you can score in the range.

To reiterate the other posts though, grab yourself the PowerScore Bible and go through it. That will be the fastest way to raise your score given the limited time left you have to study (but don't negelct studying the other sections as well).

I agree with what has already been said. It is important to point out, if you are perhaps unaware, that powerscore also has a Logical Reasoning Bible. So in addition to the LG Bible, you should get a copy of the Logical Reasoning Bible. Another thing that has helped me with LR is after I take a test I go through and try to find patterns in the types of questions that I am missing and then reference the LR Bible to study that question type. This is a pretty good spreadsheet for breaking down the question types.

How much do you think I can improve on the arguments section? My book says that section is definitely learn-able but logic confuses the hell out of me (unless it can always be represented visually, like with the games).

You can definetly improve a lot. I am an engineering major and hadn't ever been exposed to the type of logic that is on the LSAT, but after going through the lr bible I have come to a point where I feel like I understand almos all of the logic in most games. Now if I always get the right answer is a different question. But I have been able to learn the LSAT logic. e
