Uh -- yeah. We're not going to be changing thread titles for that type of stuff. Sorry to see you go, but stop ruining things for other people. Suggest a new title, doods--PK

+1

And even if you don't enjoy it, a positive mindset sure helps.

Yes I know a positive mindset helps...In all honesty actually I gotta give myself a pat on the back for sticking with this and carrying through with it despite some setbacks and bad PT scores. Im not even kidding, 2 years ago, my GPA was in the tank, i was doing HORRIBLE in school and contemplating dropping out to go work. I was an english major and came to discover that literature classes in college completely butcher the topic and made me despise what I had loved my whole life-Reading. But, I finally stragihtened myself up, changed my major to something I had always HATED my whole life-political science- and subsequently saw my GPA go from a 1.5 to a 2.9 (who knew?) and developed a love for law/history/philosophy and made the decision to make an attempt for law school. So we will see, keep your fingers crossed!!!!!

I don't mind practicing, except practicing RC (can any writing be more needlessly boring?)

Some of the passages are fascinating. I take it you don't read news publications for enjoyment?

Not about Native American artwork or African american writers.

I like the science passages just fine.

Not really... I can usually muster up the interest for the LSAT, but damn does it get tiring to practice though.

You misunderstood. Most unfortunate in that you don't enjoy topics outside of your current interests.

maybe I'm a giant nerd, but I find so many of the RC passages interesting because they're on topics I wouldn't normally seek out or have come across in my field of study/work.

I'm not sure if others agree with this, but there's a difference to me between outside interests (medicine, biology, music, etc) and pointless interests (african-american writers, white pride literature, Native American paintings, Clay pots from the Bronze age that were replicas of other clay pots we already know about).

It's like the difference in philosophy between reading John Locke and Hannah Arendt or El Che.
Arendt/Che actually make me stupider by reading it.

It is safe to assume that not everyone avoids subjects and authors with which they disagree.

Same here. I got my average on all sections except RC (-14, if anyone can actually believe that). I would have hit my target of 160+ if it had not been for that stupid section. I had 2 RC's by the way....my ultimate nightmare.

Anyway, I don't know if you have used the LRB at all, but it helped me out quite a bit. That and reviewing problems over and over until I understood why I was getting them wrong and why the correct answers were correct.

Good luck on your retake. I'm still trying to decide what to do...
