You have about ten days in which you can either learn cursive and practice the certifying statement, or choose another career path.

But, seriously, I think printing's alright.

I remember my LSAT instructor making a joke about this, how it has to be in cursive but that most of the time they dont take it seriously.

Pretty stupid if you ask me.

this is by far the dumbest part of the exam where the proctor said "Write this statement IN YOUR NORMAL HANDWRITING." followed quickly by "It must NOT BE PRINTED." totally conflicting statements, everyone groans, and then it took forever for people to reawaken their 3rd grade lessons. I'd honestly just write it and not worry.

I'm about 99% sure if you just write this in your normal handwriting it is fine. I'm pretty sure if they wanted cursive, it would explicitly say so. I think by "no printing" they just mean don't write it in exactly printed letters, but do so in your own normal handwriting so that, if necessary, it could be used as a writing sample for comparison in the event of potential fraud..

Seriously, not a big deal. I did it in my normal handwriting in June (which is some blend of print and script, but more on the print side) and I got my score just like everyone else..

Back in June, I was 'that guy' who took a really long time to write the certifying statement. It was the first time I had wrote in cursive since 4th grade. I'm retaking in Sept. and it's safe to say that I will be writing in print.

I've had friends who wrote things like, "LSAC sucks," halfway through the certification statement. Nothing ever happened to them. I doubt they even look at it unless you're red-flagged as possibly having taken the test for someone else.

Can someone, please, explain me why is it such a big deal? If you cannot write in cursive then just waste one hour of your precious time and practice. That's it.

Didn't really remember cursive, so I just wrote it in really sloppy "print" and connected printed letters together.

Yeah if you don't know cursive just write in print but don't take the pencil off the paper so that all of your letters will be connected.

Honestly though I don't think it matter all that much. I wrote in cursive but thats just because I'm kind of paranoid.

I think the last person to write in cursive on a regular basis was nostradamus

I had to do this for the GRE. I have not written a full sentence in cursive since probably 3rd grade. So I made up a new style of writing which entailed taking the regular print way of writing and trying to make it look like cursive by scribbling it fast and not lifting the pencil off the paper. lol.

I'm going to be a giant douchebag and come out and say it: how the hell do you people not know how to write cursive? Our school system has failed many...

Definitely wrote my mine in print and got my score without any problems... just write it the same way you'd write your writing sample.

I am also surprised at how many people seem to panic over the thought of having to write a few sentences in cursive.

how the hell do you people get by normally? printing is so much god damn slower, i have always written in cursive, especially poor cursive at that, but i can read it and its faster, so hence i do it.
