do you think I should adress the cancel in Feb? or does it make me sound neurotic?ericjh wrote:i dont think you need an addendum for 16 pts...

No more so than this thread.lawlover829 wrote:do you think I should adress the cancel in Feb? or does it make me sound neurotic?
Honestly, I think you'll be fine either way.

Could be your privacy editing, but:
In general, I think it's compelling and short is good. A sentence about being sick in February wouldn't hurt though.
There have been more than two LSAT's administered, you only sat for two.lawlover829 wrote: There is a sixteen point gap between the two LSAT administrations: December 2008 (Score) and June 2009 (score).
This is abrupt (take it where?) Maybe "take the higher score as the truer representation of my abilities" or "evaluate me solely on the basis of the June 2009 score."lawlover829 wrote:Because of this, I would like to request that the admissions committee take the higher score (Score).

I was under the impression that large increases needed an addendum.ericjh wrote:i dont think you need an addendum for 16 pts...
If what you wrote is the reason for the 16 point jump then I think its fine, but I find it strange that some noise would decrease your score by 16 points. Not sure what adcoms will think of it, but I always thought that an "I put in more effort and really kicked ass" was better than "it wasn't my fault" (with some exceptions of course).
As far as the Feb cancel goes, I would mention it, you're already doing the addendum anyway.
Schools won't care too much about your other scores assuming your LSAT is in their range. I wouldn't stress too much about the addendum Good luck and congrats on the increase!

Great points, Georgiana.
Yeah I wouldn't pin your 16-pt gain entirely on noise/no noise. At best, it doesn't properly credit you for the hard work you put into your preparation, and at worst, it makes you seem mentally fragile.
Lead with what puts you in a flattering light (effort) and mention the noise issue in passing just for the sake of context.

I agree with the prior two posts. I wouldn't mention the noise thing. Whether or not it's true, it sounds like a really weak excuse. I think the 16 points speaks for itself. I would just mention that you refocused your efforts and did better. Just about any school is looking for a reason to take your higher score. I just don't believe that claiming that a noise caused your score to drop 16 points will change anything. Just my two cents.

Oh, and congrats on the 16 point increase--whatever your scores where, that's a lifesaver.
