LR: -4
LR: -6
RC: -7
LG: -4

Raw Score: 80
Scaled Score: 163

What to do about that ugly LG Section.....
I'm literally thinking about solving 150+ LGs on my spare time at work over and over again to get that -0. I already ordered two books on LGs (I know, they're fake, but I feel a little better about using fake LG sections for a variety of reasons).

As to RC... urgh..
Already subscribed to Smithsonian and Scientific American - been reading Economist for two months now. But for some reason, I feel that these articles are just not dense enough...

LR's just LR. I'll have to analyze my mistakes and categorize the kind of question types that I'm getting wrong.

Shooting for 175+

i havent been doing timed full PTs cuz i run out of time, guess random answers, get pissed off and stop halfway through...

However, I've been doing individual timed RCs and my average now is -4/-5 on that section

LG is all about time and not panicking.... I mess up on LG, then after I do it untimed, I have -0/-1 errors....

Anyways, LR is my weakest (but improving) and I'm around 160-ish in general

Hoping to revive this thread for us February takers.

After two months on studying I'm hitting 163-167 -- been taking a timed test every other day. My last 5 tests were all 165. That's a testament to either my inability to learn from my mistakes, the accuracy of the grading curve, or both.

With two months left and a Testmasters course in January I hope to, and believe I can, hit 170 on the big day.

Anyone else?

I'm a fan of bringing this thread back. it was awesome in September. Although it's so long at this point, maybe start a new one? after all the Dec. test threads die down?

I thought I'd revive this thread for the June 2010 LSAT takers:

I've been consistently scoring in the mid-160s (up from my mid-140s initial diagnostic). Working towards at least a 170 on game day.

Recent PT (Oct. '08): 165
RC: -2
LR (both):-9
LG: -4

Diagnostic was 151. Ouch.

Been studying intensely the past couple months and have been scoring in the 165-175 range. In fact, I recently had a streak of 6 170s practice tests. It can be done.

Took the LSAT on Saturday. Feel good about it. Wish me luck!

I started with a diagnostic of 143 and I got a 165 on the real thing. I know you can rock it! Good luck.

First PT, taken cold in October: 161.
Second PT yesterday, no studying in between: 164.
Originally, I was satisfied with the prospect of scoring in the 160s and going to whatever law school that would get me into. Now, I've set my sights a little higher. I'm starting a Kaplan course this week and working my way through the Bibles to try and consistently break into the 170s by the June LSAT. Good luck to everyone else taking the June LSAT.

I took a lot of timed practice test, read the PS Bibles, and review my old test to find my mistakes and I learned from them. You just have to put in the work and study smart.

Had been hitting 168/169 consistently for about 8 tests. Finally hit 174, then dropped back to a 169....

Hey, I've been lurking for a while. Finally decided to register, so... first post (lol).

I've taken three PTs so far, all from 167-168, but I'm convinced that my studying efforts are finally paying off. I split a test in half and took it over two days (I didn't have time to take a whole one, but wanted to practice), and I scored a 173. I'm hoping that this is a sign of things to come.

Good luck, everyone.

Figured I'd revive this thread for us October takers.

I'm hitting my head against the wall as I'm stuck in the 167-169 range. I randomly got a 175 on PT 50 with -0 on the RC which was exciting.

I am a retaker from last year. Took Sept- canceled due to nerves, took December, bombed it something huge since I was sick and too dumb to think it would affect me adversely.

I've taken 10 PTs and have 9 left. I've done Pithypike method and am now killing games ranging usually -0 to -1 on every PT. However, LR is making me insane! I get -1 or -2 wrong on the first one and almost always mess up the second one badly...-5 to -6 each time. Looking over the answers I see how I missed that one word that made the difference.

What are y'all doing? Anyone else just STUCK in the high 160s with dreams of 170s? I'm jealous of all the journals here with 175-180s consistently!

I'm a 168 average who just wants a 170 on test day. My last six tests are 169, 168, 168, 167, 172, 170. Who knows what will happen on test day.

I've been working on this LSAT trying to get a 170 for the past 4 months. Today, I get my first 170 in PT44. So happy!

My last 5PTs have been:164, 167,163, 168, 170

Can I join? I usually hit somewhere in the high 160's but I've hit 170 or above maybe around 5 times.

Averaging all my PTs, I am in the 165-166 range. I have been scoring higher in the 160s as of late but my high is still a 169. To be perfectly honest, i'd be content with a 165 on test day but I want to be 100% sure i'll hit that and i'd love to be consistently in the low 170s by test day.

Anyone wanna chime in on how much test day affecter their overall score? Did you drop, stay the same, or improve?

It's making me crazy that I can't string together 2 170s. So far I've gotten a 172 on PT 45 and 175 on PT 50.

I am trying to do every little thing I can to fix this. What's frustrating me the most is that I'm missing like Q3 in LR or Q12 because I miss one word that's the key to the whole thing. I don't know how to make it so that I don't miss those words/qualifiers.

I'm really happy about LG though. They were the bane of my existence before and after pithypike's method I've got them down to -1 at the worst. I just want a 170 for PTs so that if I drop on test day I'll be in the high 160s.

Do any of you feel that over-exposure to the questions actually makes you do slightly worse? I've noticed that tests I've seen before (like some in the 50s from last year and 1-38 from prep) I recall some of the questions and it throws me off. Did 170+ on two tests I'd never done/seen any question from before. I'm actually looking forward to the actual thing so that I get fresh material.

Yes, I often seem to miss the LR questions i've seen before. I just don't seem to approach them the same way and too often try to remember what it was.

I took Sept 09 as well (168). Re-took June 2010, got pneumonia and decided to cancel but probably only because I could not scar my Sept score. Haven't been studying intensely this time (personal issues taking up time/mental energy). I'll take a 5 section PT this week and see how it goes but my last PTs were 174 and 172 and 170 then waited like 3 weeks and took one over multiple days and got a 163...

EDIT: yes remembering questions is a problem because I either approach them differently or try to remember what the "catch" was and it takes up time/throws me off

I am blowing my mind right now :)

Full PT today (5 sections)
PT 49
-0 on LG and RC
Score: 175
considering I haven't studied for LSAT in a month, I'm extremely proud of this and feel good about 10/09
