If i want to apply as soon as applications open but also want to take again in september, how do i Tell the schools I'm applying to that I'm taking again and "wait" for my next score?

If you are registered for the Sept LSAT the school will know and will hold evaluating until the score comes in. But you can always email admissions to confirm.

I really don't think that will look bad--it is a 1 point difference--and both are very high scores. Most school will just take the highest and for the few that average a 172 and 173 is a 172.5 which is a ~173. So congrats on doing so well on your lsats!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't look bad at all. If anything, confirms your first test was not a fluke. And BTW, many would kill for those scores.
