Is applying in Dec. fine? Because I've been studying for a month and Dec. is when I plan on taking the test. That's not going to be "late" or a hindrance on my chance to get into schools/scholarships will it? Assuming, obviously, that my numbers and application check out fine.
Why not take in September? There is still over two months for prep. What was your baseline PT score? How are you studying? And how often?
My PT was a 153. I've only studied for a month, month and a half, but the last few weeks have been a little rough. I've been fasting in observance of Ramadan, which makes it hard to focus and also limits the time I can study for numerous reasons. On average I study 3 hours a day, and more on the weekends. I haven't studied in 3 or 4 days because of workplace events. But Ramadan ends this Saturday and I can go back to studying full-time. However, I'm going on vacation from June 30 - July 4, and from July 15 - 22, so that's even more time I'm missing out on. I began with LR in the Trainer and have just started working on Manhattan LG.

All that is to say, I don't see how that gives me enough time to prepare for September. I mean, can I not send in my application BEFORE I take the test and then have them just waiting for my score? What's the difference between me doing that and another person telling the school to wait on their updated score after retaking in December?
You may wish to consider starting with LG and mastering those and then going to LR. I found that sequence really helpful. All of the time I put in up front to mastering LG really helped on the June test.

It's not quite the word that I want to use but since taking the test I have had no motivation really to do anything and work is a drag (very slow right now). For the last few months I had been breathing the LSAT, confidence a bit rattled at the administration, and now I'm just... I don't know? In a fog I guess?

Might be some others dealing with it or might be just me. FWIW my spouse has been away for the last month-ish and comes back tomorrow ( :!: ) , so that is possibly a major contributor.
I felt exhausted and took a few days to catch up on sleep. I have a dissertation to work on, so it definitely keeps me occupied and I enjoy working on it! Perhaps find something that you enjoy learning and take that up for a bit. But I am sure having your spouse back will help you feel better!!!

I backed out of plans because I told someone I was "in grieving" because of the LSAT.

Well considering I've already finished the LR sections in the Trainer, I feel like I'm at a pretty good spot and can now focus on learning LG while drilling LR. Whenever I do the Cambridge sets, i miss no more than 2 on any of the category 1 sections, about the same for category 2. Category 3 and 4 are where I really mess up, so I think more practice, more review of the questions and maybe a little more review of the general principles will have me in a good spot on LR.

I've also only been at this for a month, so I'm not sure if I'm being too hard on myself or what.

He was a stressed guy, but he killed the test, killed his app, and got a fully to the school of his dreams. Then he left us after months of grade A shitpoasting without any real warning

Mine is written and is on the third-ish draft. Not in love with it, but it's a safe topic which I think will be okay if I get a good LSAT.

I have. How short is too short? Mine ended not much over 550 words. I'm pretty happy with it, but a little worried about length.
I've narrowed mine down to three topics and I'm letting my law school friends vote now.

I would generally say never go past the last line on the second page, and that's about it. I put this limit mostly because a few schools have a 2 page limit and it would suck to have written a 10 page masterpiece and not be able to use it. IIRC Texas and Berkeley both had 2 page limits

I would write about the topic you enjoy most - worked for me. I scrapped 3 drafts and I finally said I'm going to write about the one I enjoy most and it was the best.

I have a framework using my first marathon (at the age of 34) as a backdrop to my little story of personal (and professional) growth. I want to make sure I portray some necessary information without parroting my resume. It'll take some work. For now I am focusing on stressing out over nothing.
