I've been lurking this thread for a bit and decided to join in on the ~fun~

I just started lightly studying a few weeks ago. Took a diagnostic a few months ago that went surprisingly well and am working my way through the LG Bible (about 60% done with my first time reading it). This week I have really started to dedicate major time to studying now that classes are done.

For those who are a bit further ahead in their prep, would you recommend going to the LG Bible next, keep drilling games, or both? On my first non-diagnostic PT, I was LG (-0 but took an extra minute to finish the last game), LR (-6, -5), and RC (-4). I still feel like I have room for improvement on LG and that the PT I took happened to have particularly easy games, but I also feel as though LR presents the biggest opportunity for improvement.

Additionally, are you all using a very structured guide to your prep or charting your own course? I've skimmed some of the more in-depth prep guides on this site but don't know if you all have noticed major benefits/drawbacks to each strategy. Thanks again!

Welcome!

You said you are already 60% of the way through the bible, so I would just finish that up if I were you. LG is definitely variable test to test. You can do -0 on one test where you don't see a curve breaker type game, and then the next test might end up being -5. Definitely keep drilling after the bible.. maybe search out for the hardest sorted games (7sage has a great tool for difficulty filtering, so long as you have access to the PT's) and work through those. If the hardest games don't give you any grief, move on to LR/RC.

At the start of my studies I was obsessed with formulating a rigid and formulaic study guide. It didn't work. As long as I spend time working on LSAT, regardless of what topic it is, I am satisfied with it. Some days I just want to work on games again, so I do them. I do think it's important to have a rough idea of what you need to accomplish though. For example, after you get the baseline understanding of all 3 sections you should move onto timed sections and drilling of weaknesses from these sections. Once you have those somewhat mastered you move onto timed PT's and do BR. You'll just have to do trial by error and see what fits for you though in terms of the details.

idk but I feel like they're just trying to game the rankings at this point in somewhat of a desperate way.. I'd still go if accepted though

Ridiculous. How many 20 year olds are going to go into disgusting levels of debt, and then realise they don't want a career in law after all?

That's my take on the matter. They are desperate and gasping for air. It comes off as incredibly desperate, but what the hell do I know.

This might be part of their plan hahaha. If more people go into STEM , the more people will realize they don't need the "big law" salary to make 100k+ a year out of UG. If HLS can lock them in before they realize what 200k worth of debt is like, they will get more students in a field that is likely depleting (stem in law).

Also another thought - maybe people are more debt averse now compared to a few years ago? Maybe they're losing applicants to CCN and the lower T13 for larger scholarships and this is a way to lock in more money?

LOL at 100k+ a year out of UG in STEM.
Perhaps if we shorten that to "TE," it applies.

I don't know, leaves a bad taste in my mouth though. Especially after they tried to claim that their move to accept GRE was to make Harvard more accessible for lower-income students.

Well, yeah. By STEM I largely mean computer sciences, engineering, and technology. Majoring in math isn't going to get you anywhere unless you get a PhD and go into IB. Same with majoring in physics. Enjoy research and academia.

If you graduate from H/S/Ivy/MIT/etc 100k is easy first year out in one of the majors I listed. AND you don't take on another 200k of debt.

^ What DJ said. Maybe graduating from H/S/MIT that's reasonable though. I obviously am not an engineering major from MIT (#BerkDanceTheory4lyfe) so I don't know.

Maybe if HLS did something that didn't seem so self-serving it would be more appealing. Look at NU's ED program, good for certain students, good for the school. Maybe HLS could do something debt-wise to attract better students instead of desperate reaches for better applicants to boost their numbers.

Yeah but NUs ED program comes with a huge incentive rather than 200g in debt. I don't think they need a Hamilton esq scholarship because more would pay for sticker at H than other schools. this is retaliation to God Tier Stanny jumping them imo.

Eh. If you went to Silicon Valley or Seattle I think it's somewhat standard to be in the realm of 100k (maybe closer to 90 first year, but still). Yeah you have the outrageous cost of living, but I'm considering that negligible since you have that with big law as well.

Either way, Harvard's tryna trap the smartiepantsies.

some of those guys are more selective than Stanny lol. I think we are going to have a extreme job loss slump soon, worse than 2008. STEM is being flooded with qualified applicants (see law circa 2006-8) and soon enough that area will pop. Law is on an upswing which sotra sucks for us as well. TLDR we are all super boned.
