Re: Feb 2017 Waiter's Thread!!!
So glad my first one is in the books. I think my test day protocol was spot on. If I do a retake, I'm going to use the same one.
As far as feel goes, I felt great about it. Better than most of the PT's that I have completed. I started to glaze over a bit during my third section (RC-around passage 2), but I felt like I had JY's (7sage) voice in my head when I was doing both of my LG sections. Overall, I felt awake, and that the test went really fast. Far faster than most of the PT's I have completed, even with the writing sample. I think we started at just before 9AM and finished just after 1PM.
That being said, when I have completed PT's and felt great, it means I either did great/above average or really really really bad.
I felt alert mentally until I got home (I went out for lunch with a friend after the test). Once I got home, it felt like my brain shut off. So, I'm taking the rest of today for Xbox/Hulu/Netflix and will do homework tomorrow.

Re: Feb 2017 Waiter's Thread!!!
My third take. First take in June I got couldn't focus on RC and went -9 in that section, -15 overall. Took it again in September without studying much (stupid stupid stupid) and cancelled when I saw lacquer.
Today was by far the best experience. There were hard parts in every section - definitely have taken easier PTs - I even got stuck on number 9 in one of the LR sections. That being said, I finished each section in time, and for each section other than LG I finished early enough to check if I bubbled correctly. So it all went smoothly. I may have made a major mistake on LG without really noticing, something that happens to me every now and then during prep, but usually when a PT goes smoothly I score a 172-176. I don't think I did any worse that -12. Hoping the curve is at least that, praying I didn't misbubble the LG which was kind of chaotic.

Also have to ask - Is there one particular LSAT author obsessed with bees or are bees a popular interest among lawyers?

Well I would bet that I increased my score by at least one point, from 163 in Dec... by how many points I do not know.
Good job everyone

Felt great until logic games. Probably one of my best tests ever until that point. Really screwed up. Tripped slightly at the end of a game, wrote a slightly confusing diagram for another, and by the time I hit the next game basically panic set in. First take, but was pretty disappointed in what happened , could have been an awesome score if LG went how IT ALWAYS GOES which is -3/-1. I hope to god my score is not in the 150s because of the logic game problems. Was PTing around 165 with some low 170s and a few lower 160s. Disappointed in myself

Think I have serious paranoia issues. One of the proctors was looking at me weird in between sections and now I've convinced myself LSAC will cancel my score

I thought the same thing! Seeing the bees reference after doing PT's 73, 75, 77, and 80 (I forget which one of those had the bees passage) made me think I was doing a repeat section during the first paragraph!etramak wrote:Also have to ask - Is there one particular LSAT author obsessed with bees or are bees a popular interest among lawyers?

Re: Feb 2017 Waiter's Thread!!!
I felt the same way - LG was my last section, and taking an extra long time on the first question threw me off. Was feeling pretty good about the test up to that point (thought that LR and RC were pretty manageable). Fingers crossed that the curve is kind! (It's my first take too, but I was really hoping to not have to retake...)nyc56 wrote:Felt great until logic games. Probably one of my best tests ever until that point. Really screwed up. Re: Feb 2017 Waiter's Thread!!!
I'm so glad someone else also feels this way, misery loves company. Though I still hope you got a high score! Killoran says a -14 scale, but we'll never actually know. I was looking at the December 2010 scale (102 questions) and it is massive. -30 for a 160, -22 for 165. Though it probably won't be quite that large, it is at least giving me some hope. With how well LR and RC went I can't imagine I went more than (-3) per section LR and maybe -6 RC. So that's 12 total + a massive disaster on LG lol, maybe -10 (but hopefully less). So I may be at a mid 160, but unfortunately, it's pure speculation.chrysippusofsoli wrote:I felt the same way - LG was my last section, and taking an extra long time on the first question threw me off. I feel like I really missed an opportunity to get a high score with the screw up in games.

Re: Feb 2017 Waiter's Thread!!!
Thanks - I hope you got a high score too! I feel the same way about the missed opportunity. About a week before the test, I realized that I was slipping up quite a bit on newer LR questions, and coupled with how difficult I found the lacquer passage on PT 79 to be, I decided to devote my last week or so to improving accuracy on LR and RC. Didn't expect LG to come back and bite me!nyc56 wrote:I'm so glad someone else also feels this way, misery loves company. Though I still hope you got a high score! It's going to be a long wait till the end of the month... On a positive note, I'm quite glad to be done with my first take!

Might be helpful to just focus 100% on whatever else you have to do in your life right now - e.g. if you're in school, focus on your classes; if you're working, focus on your work. Hopefully this will make the next month fly by a little more quickly. I'll certainly be trying to do this and not think too much about the possibility of having to retake, my potential score, options, etc.clueless801 wrote:Does anyone have any idea what I can do now? Re: Feb 2017 Waiter's Thread!!!
Did you guys get a blue blank piece of scrap paper along with the normal scrap paper during the writing prompt? I know this seems like a silly question but I received a seemingly blank piece of blue paper along with my writing sample. It wasn't collected after the test and I threw it in the garbage outside. Im just hoping it was in fact blank and I didn't throw out something important

I think the others nailed it. Get back to whatever you enjoy doing the most or activities that you put on the back burner while studying.clueless801 wrote:Does anyone have any idea what I can do now? I didn't realize how much time I spent studying til the day after the test...
I'm shifting some time back to working out more frequently, reading books for fun, and since classes started back on the 30th-doing what I can to get the highest GPA possible. I have also spent time on here, reddit, and 7sage.

Thanks everyone for the responses - I guess I should have mentioned that it wasn't a serious post but I hope you're all taking the time to relax. As for me, I'm making plans with some people I haven't seen in a long time before getting back to studying in a few days. No time to waste and taking this exam and coming out alive makes me excited for the retake.
