glass half full, my cube job was telesales and I'd think of fun and new exciting ways to kill myself there. Final straw was when they asked me to come in Sunday after working 3, 6 day weeks in a row. Not for that money, nope fuck that.amta wrote:i sat at the reception desk here for 3 years so its a step up.dj9i27 wrote:mannnn i don't know how you guys do cube life, I did it for ~3 months and hated every goddamn minute of it.

Cherry - nail game on point, yassss honey.
Also re: resume - I would maybe do it by the director or the company you worked with, and then break down the individual projects. I feel like that would be the most cohesive way to break it down and still keep it professionally uniform, especially because showbiz resumes are so different.

Amta, I forget that other people work in cubicles and seriously thought you worked in my office because of how identical the space is.

I know some of you are paralegals, any advice on how to go about getting a paralegal position w/ no WE (except a court internship, if that counts for anything which it probs doesn't) ? I'll be graduating in May/June or whenever the hell it is, and will start looking ASAP after that.

I've failed at getting any relevant job since I graduated in May

not a bad idea, Amta. I'll look into something like that. it's just that everywhere I've looked online while being nosey and checking out paralegal positions seems to be that the majority want WE, which I don't have. But the file clerk idea isn't that bad too!

Depends on if you want public or private. You mentioned you're in NYC, I would suggest looking at the city postings for public positions (DA's office, etc). If private, a lot of them are really a coin toss but almost always entry position (unless otherwise stated). Otherwise being a file clerk makes sense. You really just want something in the year before you start law school, I'm guessing?Mikey wrote:I know some of you are paralegals, any advice on how to go about getting a paralegal position w/ no WE (except a court internship, if that counts for anything which it probs doesn't) ? Ok cool. That's smart. Yeah they're so different so it's hard to figure out what to put on this resume and how to boil it down.

Yeah basically just for the year before LS! I think I'm going to look into the file clerk idea.Shakawkaw wrote:

don't quote please!
My court internship (did it twice, back to back summers) and I would observe the judge in conferences and trials and shit, but mostly just doing printing, scanning, speaking to attorneys, setting up conferences, managing the calendar, and basically doing anything that the judge or staff wanted me to do.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
