It's either I am starting to get the hang of these LGs or the ones I am doing are easier than others
How did you get so good on the LR? I've been drilling by question type and still seem to miss so many of eachdj9i27 wrote:Alright, aside from my printing this weekend I'm done until the 15th.
Did PT30 LR1 and RC (only 2) I don't think I did this one, nothing looked familiar but if i did take it, it would have been in June/July.
LR1 took me 34 min, which is longer than usual but 25/26
RC I missed 3 across 2 passages, so fuck.

that's a sick diagnostic! you'd probably score higher on a PT now than a 164 if you've been drilling and practicing in general this whole time I think!PrezRand wrote:You still have 5 months. You got this. I haven't taken a PT since my diagnostic in Nov (161). Cali might be comparable to NYC depending on where you attend. Since my parents are covering COL, I will only go to a t14 school with a similar COL to Texas (Assuming HYS is out of the picture)dj9i27 wrote:COL isn't a big issue aside from NYC schools, I know once I get the swing of things I can get a part time job and pay my rent; yes law school will be a challenge but working at FexEx at night won't mentally kill me.PrezRand wrote: I just want no more than 100k debt from UVA. I want to take a year off (another one, DJ KHALED) to save some money and if I got to Michigan/UVA/Duke buy a truck for the snow (like a Chevy Colorado nothing fancy). I dove in the snow once and know my car won't survive it.

Durham is also pretty cheap to. Houston and Dallas are comparable to Ann Arbor and Charlottesville. Basically, if I go t14, I'll only go to UVA or Duke. I'd rather go to UT than Michigan just because firms don't recruit as heavily. I couldn't do CCN even though I have relatives in Chicago and could commute from Connecticut simply because I want to be on my own and have a social life in college.dj9i27 wrote:California is out for me unless stanford (lol it won't) lets me in. COL to texas assuming your not in Htown, Dallas, etc. should be similar to ann Arbor or Charlottesville. I've been to ann Arbor alot, super cheap housing compared to my new apartment.PrezRand wrote:Cali might be comparable to NYC depending on where you attend. Yeah, Houston, Dallas, and Austin are all comparable to Ann Arbor I believe unless I am mistaken. You could find a solid apartment in the upper-middle class-1% area of Houston in the downtown-midtown region for less than 1000 a month. Charlottesville, Durham, and Austin are all comparable in terms of COL.dj9i27 wrote:UNC isnt on my radar currently, but houston is comparable to a tiny college town in Michigan? I can't speak for Charlottesville but I know both those cities about equally and didn't see that coming; I want to be independent living as well for the record. unless a T14 comes at me with 80-100% tuition I'm holding until post negotiations, I really like columbia a lot I think I have a decent chance at some scholly money but, dat dere COL will kill me unlike uva or umich.PrezRand wrote:Durham is also pretty cheap to. ut is on my radar rn as well, last I checked their biglaw numbers made me sad so it was a bit of a deterrentm
Yeah, UT's numbers aren't that good but at least the cost is incredibly low compared to every t14 school. Even if you don't get biglaw, you won't end up in small law. There's a bunch of mid-law firms in TX that pay 6 figures (130k+)

I like your confidence. Wish I had the samedj9i27 wrote:Well goddamn. Aside from the biglaw thing, I know UT is insular which is another slight problem on my end; sometime in my law career I would like to migrate back to my homestate of FL. UT is still a very attractive choice, it is cheap, I have a fair amount of friends in Austin and who are migrating there after UG but, apart of me wants to live in a NYC or Philly or any large east coast city TEMPORARILY. Just to say down the line, yeah that is what the big city is like.PrezRand wrote: Yeah, Houston, Dallas, and Austin are all comparable to Ann Arbor I believe unless I am mistaken. I'm a winter lover so the colder climate T14's get a boost for me. One of my friends from undergrad goes to dental school in a big city and he said it sucks compared to going to school in a college town. I think law school in a big city would just add to the stress for me.

Can u link me to the thread you are referring to?dj9i27 wrote:90% of the battle in my mind is selling yourself and timing. BigLaw sometimes frightens me, BernieTrumps thread has been appearing as of late but then I remember, this is not telesales nor is it shingling roofs in the summer or working in an non air conditioned warehouse. I've done all of those, hours worse than BigLaw sunrise to sunset in 96 degree heat nothing will be worse than that to me.

That's my biggest worry about umich. It's my dream school but the things I've read about employment/recruiting worry me. Philly looks like it would be a pretty cool place to go to school from what I've read though.dj9i27 wrote:Probably, college towns are nice and insulated with young people but I think Philly, NYC, Chicago, etc. while might add stress pad the landing for a potential job there.blackmamba8 wrote:I'm a winter lover so the colder climate T14's get a boost for me.
