Had this too. Some have speculated this LR section was experimental. Personally hope it was not but who knows

It was real. I had two LR and that question was on there.

I forgot to put an answer down for one section too. Did anyone get a section with a drink called Mate? I was OCD with letter choices feeling like I needed a certain amount of A's per section. I don't know what to think. I had a similar feeling with my last PT, but I did my best on my last PT. I think I did well on two RCs, guessed on a few on the Glass one. Did well on three logic games, but couldn't get to the third.

I had the Mate question and I think I read it about four times before I finally understood how the answer choices were relevant. If you're trying to figure out if that section was experimental, it was (I had two LR).

I was wondering this as well. Might be more enjoyable to participate in the panic of grey icons at the same time as everyone else here.

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster.

I know this question comes up a lot, but I'm wondering on your opinions if I should cancel or hope for the best (and retake in October). To preface, I'm aiming for 170+, targeting T6 this coming cycle. As of now, I have a ~4.12 LSDAS-converted GPA.

I had LR-RC-LR-LR-LG. Had trouble with my first LR section, but the other two went fairly well I think. Really hoping that the first LR was experimental. Going through some of the questions people have posted, I remember some of them but not which section they were in.

In prepping, I was scoring around -2 to -0 for games with lots of time to spare. I don't know what happened on test day, but I absolutely BUTCHERED the LG. I had to guess 2-3 questions for the last two games, around 5/6 total. I'm super disappointed in myself just because I KNOW I can do better. Opinions, guys? Cheers.

Don't Cancel.

Reasons
1) Tons of people complained about the LG, maybe the curve will be generous.
2) Use this score report to get better.
3) What if you guessed right?
4) From what I've read only Yale averages tests.
5) Don't Cancel.

I get the idea of undershooting to not be overconfident. But if you look at the previous curves, the last time it was -10 was June and October 2012. Now, this might mean that -10 gets its due time this cycle, and since there were 100 questions, that may be true, but the June 2010 test had 99 questions and was -12. I'd give -11 a second thought, but the past 5 tests (ending Dec. 2014) were -12+ (according to powerscore).

Yes, if your undergrad awards A+'s then those count as 4.33 points per credit

Thanks for the replies. I know the overwhelming consensus on TLS is to not cancel, but it's nevertheless good to hear it said to me directly.

I go to a Canadian UG that awards A+'s based on % grade -- anything 90%+ is automatically an A+. From what I understand, the grading system is drastically different than at US schools. However, to provide context, pretty much all of my courses have an average of 67%, which is a C+.

some schools award A+'s and A-'s, which (theoretically) would balance out advantages of 4.33 points per credit since having a, say, 92 in a class would mean an A- that's worth 3.67 points. Others do straight letter grades, so there's no difference in quality points awarded whether you make a very high A or a very low one. The worst is when your school gives A-'s and gives you less than 4.0 points per credit for those, but gives no A+'s. That sucks.

What fortune. My UG allowed A+, but that was based on a score of 97%+ (the teacher often had discretion in this matter; ie. they chose whether they wanted to follow the university grading standards. Grades went down on a 10 point scale (including pluses and minuses). So 90s-As 80s-Bs 70s-Cs 60s-Ds. So your C+ grade would have been D+ and 90% = A-. Is this proof that Canada truly is better than America? Tune in next time to find out.

Yea, my UG has +/- grades and it pretty much evens out. I've gotten hit with an A- after getting a 92.9% in classes and most of my professors don't even offer A+'s. So unless you consistently get 98-100% in all your classes than the A+'s don't help much

even though lawl schools say they evaluate each transcript within the context of each applicant's unique UG institution, it's hard to see how applicants who came from a less punitive grading UG don't get at least a small bump with the schools that are more determined to maintain inordinately high GPA medians/75ths in light of a (potentially?) declining LSAT median

Polls from previous waiters threads:
Guess your score
What is the lowest score you will not retake?
If you don't get the score you want, then what?
Are you lurking or shitpoasting?
When will scores be released?
Who is the first person you're going to tell your score?

Sorry those are all test related
