Re: The Official June 2015 Waiter's Thread
Howdy folks, I'm joining in the conversation to say hi, and commiserate as we wait. The last time I was a on an online forum was when I was an obese 12 year old anxiously awaiting news on Nintendo's then-to-be next Mario game called "Super Mario 128." It never came out, and it was a very miserable time in my life. This wait feels comparable, with the only upside being that I know LSAT scores should eventually come out, but at least I'm not obese or 12 now.
It's great to see some fellow Air Force members here, as well as the accompanying discussions about military programs and all the acronyms that come along with that.

Re: The Official June 2015 Waiter's Thread
Ok yeah, you are in a completely different situation. I wish I was an officer. Enlisted doesn't have quite as many opportunities. FLEP is only avaiable for O1-3 so I would have to commission first and I already have 7 years TIS. And I'm not sure how officer assignments work but from what I understand you have a little more leway than enlisted do. Btw, completely unrelated but I'm getting my MBA in Government Contracts and Acquisition incase law school doesn't pan out. How is the career field? Currently, I am a linguist and would REALLY like to get away from intelligence.[/quote]
You are the exact opposite of me then. I wanted to be a pilot, STO, or intelligence officer more than anything. Got invited to STO selection after spending two hours every day in a pool for four months only to get disqualified for my vision for pilot and STO on the same day my senior year. Had an intelligence spot but got convinced to give it up to be a drone pilot as a compromise for not getting to fly manned aircraft. During that training got medically DQ'd for having ocular migraines and then got reclassed into contracting. It just wasn't what I envisioned myself doing in the Air Force.
That being said, it is a good career field if you are looking to make money. In 3 years I could get out of the government and get a job working for a defense contractor like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, CACI, etc. making $150k+ no problem. That is why my career field is so short manned for officers. They all leave to make way more money in the civilian sector. Working in defense acquisitions just is not what I want to be doing for the next 18+ years though. If you have an interest in it, it definitely is not a bad career field to be in. You can PM me if you have any more questions. You at JBA by chance?

Im up at Fort Meade. Sounds like you had a tough run of it. Its funny how people like different things. Im a linguist and we have the same problem. BAH and other companies will pay you bank to take off the uniform. If I liked the job and hated the Air Force I'd do it. As it turns out I'm the opposite. I wish I had more of a choice when I joined. They figure out you can go intel and your opportunities close really fast. Drone pilot would have been pretty sweet. We worked closely with those guys when I was in DCGS and they all sounded about like we sound. Some people like it and some people want out. I guess hopefully we end up in a position that is suited for our skills/preferences.

You have to use a direct link to the image. If it doesn't end in .jpg, .gif, etc. it won't work.cdotson2 wrote:is it difficult to post an image or something?basedvulpes wrote:Bummed out yet?jumbocolumbo wrote:Everyone on the LSAC website waiting for grey:
