The lazy part of me is asking: Is Feb test too late for 2016 cycle given that the goal is top 10?

Are you guys still up for taking the same PT this Saturday? I was hoping to do more recent ones.

PT66, slight improvement...168 and then 173 on BR
LG -0 (back to normal here)
LR1 -4 (not horrible, but second guessed myself on Q12 (a/b on the peat moss) and Q16 about the apartments I wasn't thinking...should have been -2)
RC -6 (again, just a couple of questions that I go through thinking I got them right, only to realize that afterwards I couldn't have been more wrong, could have been -3)
LR2 -3 (again, I could deal with it, just a few silly mistakes)
I really wish I could just have LR click and be more consistent on RC at like, -3/4. Would like to be consistently in 170s.

So I've been finding that, on recent PTs, I'm doing extremely well on one LR section, and then getting fisted by the other. Said fisting tends to happen from questions 16-22.
The thing that's getting me is that it's not one particular question type. Nor are they all of the "5* questions".
What do you all think this could be? I mean I'm averaging a 168, but if I can resolve this I could break the 170 range.
I just can't seem to figure out why, and what to do to try to improve on this.
How's your pacing? More specifically, how quickly are you finishing the first 10ish questions of the section? I had the same problem for a long time and I noticed that whenever I would get annihilated on an LR section it was typically because I had fallen behind on pacing and was forced to answer the questions in the 15-23 range a lot quicker than I wanted to. To remedy this, I've made sure that I'm through the first 10ish questions in 10 minutes or less. Sometimes this means circling an answer choice and moving on without checking the others because I feel confident that I've selected the right one. Obviously, this carries a little bit of risk, but to me it's worth it because there are definitely gimmies in the first 10 questions and I don't want to waste any unnecessary time on them. Just little stuff like that to pick up extra time because it's inevitable that there are going to be some really difficult questions in the 15-23 range that are going to require a little more time to answer correctly.
Always get the first 15 questions done in 15 minutes. It's just sort of brain like.. stops? It feels almost hazy, I'm not as sharp thinking. Maybe I should take a break and just quickly meditate before diving into those questions?
I always took a pause after about question 14. I actually bubbled in questions 1-14 before moving on. Gave my brain a nice little rest.

Actually I didn't really drill LG too much. I started off weak as most do, once I saw a few games I got the idea of it; after doing the games from 52-61 I watched 7sage explanations for all of them and realized that, aside from a couple of really loopy games...everything is either sequencing, grouping or some combination of the two and you can pretty much split everything. I usually set myself to a maximum of 4 worlds based on the most reliable inferences and if I have to diagram a new one for a question I just leave it, in case I need to reference that one later. I haven't drilled games exclusively since...May? even then I never really spent too much time on them. LG is just something that really clicks with me - I usually finish a section with 3 easy/1 hard game in about 25 minutes and a 2/2 (easy-hard) section in around 30, depending on how I'm feeling. This past take in October I actually got done with games 1/2/4 in 18 minutes, thought I did something wrong, went back and checked every answer choice before going to game three (because the inference didn't stick out right away), got the inference and finished up game 3. Only -3 because I forgot to change my acceptability answer after I discovered the inference, got #23 wrong and I think #16? Just rushed a little bit, but glad I had the time. Tangent.
If only I could get LR to work like that....

One of my former teammates found my old college housemate dead in his bed yesterday morning. Suddenly worrying about weakening rediculous and abstract arguments seems unimportant. I got the call halfway through my drilling yesterday, it felt so weird.
Awh man, I'm sorry to hear that =/ It's so easy to forget that a world outside of the LSAT exists. Sometimes that world is worse than the LSAT though =(

has anyone ever meditated right before taking a PT and felt like it made them perform better? I'm gonna try it out tomorrow to see if it helps my focus.

Re: The Official December 2015 Study Group
Hi guys, lurking in this forum since march yet first time posting.
Took the Oct test (2nd time) and get 161 and with my GPA 3.0, I think i am going nowhere, so here i am.
I been practicing lsat myself all the time and I have trouble increasing my score in reading comprehension.
My LG is consistenly -1 to 0, LR is -10 to -8 (can improve to -5 when BR), RC CONSISTENTLY scoring averagely -10.
If possible, can you guys share how to tackle this section. When I do LR especially Assumption family question, I can at least predict what the answer may be but with RC I just want to bash myself onto the wall. Should I just keep drilling?
Anything is appreciated
and good luck to all the test taker.
