Thanks Mint,

Tonight I am going to dissect the PT I just took and then take another PT on Saturday. I am so sick of LSAT that I am dreading the 1 week left let alone another whole cycle or another 2 months. Maybe that is the problem. Hopefully this helps. I plan on taking at least another 4 PT's before exam day and if I don't see scores in 160s I am going to withdraw. Btw, I usually score on the higher end of my PTs on the actual exam (took it twice).

Did PT 72. The first time I took it was two months ago, but I did feel I remembered a lot of questions, especially the ones that I missed the first time. Missed 0 on LG and both LR sections, but -3 on RC.

I am very happy with my LG and LR performance on this one--even though I know memory played a part there. The problem is, after I reviewed RC, I realize I could have avoided missing some questions, but honestly I still feel that in the limited time of the test, I really could not have afforded more time on those questions in order to get them right.

Guess I just don't have the RC skills good enough to miss fewer questions. Anyone has any advice for improving RC in just last one week?

wow took and blind reviewed 74 today. so tired now, lol.

166 - 172 after blind review.

Thought I got killed on RC but got -6 during the timed section. I think thats about as hard as an RC section as I've seen. Upon review some of the RC questions I saw were just ridiculous lol.. how does anyone actually go -0 on RC will never compute with me.

I'm afraid and excited at the same time to take 76. I hope I get a better score than what it says on my lsac page. I hate logging in and seeing my score :(

You could try starting on passage 4 and going backwards to passage 1. That way you're more likely to be pressed for time on an easier passage. Also, try reading something significantly more dense than LSAT passages, and make sure you're honestly comprehending every sentence. Tough to say how much that second recommendation will help in just a week, but it could.
Thanks! I will try out your recommendations. Maybe just the first one though :D

I feel exactly the same way. For some questions, answer choices requiring some inference are wrong, but for others, the right answer actually requires a pretty big assumption. This can happen in both detail and inference questions. Quite frustrating.

I guess the best way is to eliminate the obviously wrong ones. Problem is for a lot of questions, at least two ACs look just equally suspect.

PT71

LR: -3
LG: -2
LR: -3
RC: -4

172

Stupid mistakes for LG. I need to review Qs rather than wasting good 5 minutes (usually what i have left for every LG)

Found the LRs to be extremely difficult. Would get stuck on earlier Qs as well, and get totally burned out. Would have gotten a lot lower score had I done experimental section.

Not looking forward to reviewing but here it goes...

my issue is actually just obscure inferences or questions about strange parts of the passage. I also think I missed a Q that was on a comparative passage "what thing was discussed in both passages" -- I just didn't have time to look back and couldn't remember so I took my best guess and moved on.

I've noticed that I do much better on PTs when I'm calm and relaxed than when I pump myself up before an exam.

Last week I was at the point where I was capable of doing well in each section (could get RC down to -4/5, LR to -1/2 each, LG to 0) but I would always bomb one section when I went to take a preptest. One day it was RC -14, one day it was LR -15.

Took a break from studying for five days. Went from a 163 to a 169. Fatigue is real, ya'll.

Honestly I'm at the point where I think my methods are alright, and I'm not going to learn much in the next week. If I do poorly, it's because of fatigue or concentration. The best thing I can do is to just take it lightly and keep a cool head. For the next week, only going to do 1 or 2 more preptests and maybe a little light review. Not touching anything on Thursday or Friday.

That's one that I also go back and check before the questions. I like to go back and make a little summary of each passage before the questions.
I follow Manhattan's method so I already make a method. One thing I need to start doing is after reading passage A in comparative passages, marking up odd words or words I think may appear in the questions.

I'm pretty sure I'm withdrawing for December and registering for February. My October score is good enough to get me into where I want so I can at least start submitting my applications anyway. I just haven't been able to improve from 167 yet on my PTs, and since I only have one take left I think it's better to postpone.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
