Have any of you tried starting with the last game/passage and working backwards to help with time? If so, would you recommend it?

Re: The Official December 2015 Study Group
I have a newb question. I already took the exam twice. If I withdraw from the exam before Saturday, it won't count as a try and i can still take it again in Feb correct?

LG: For 76, the last game was the easiest. So if you mean by starting out with the hardest one, then no.WorthlessDegree wrote:Have any of you tried starting with the last game/passage and working backwards to help with time? If so, would you recommend it?
RC: no idea. last passage could be hardest for me but easiest for you...

My section breakdown the first time around wasappind wrote:can you say what your section breakdown were in Oct and if anything other than clearer head helped for rc? for the oct test around -3 in the second LR is not that bad, it had difficult LR imo.slizerd wrote:I'm the opposite there, my LG feels harder after a break, it's RC that improves the most. I think having a clearer head really helped with increased reading comprehension . in Oct I was going -5-7 on RC and now it's usually -2-3. LR in Oct was -3ish each section, now usually -1-2. Definitely adds up to a higher score fast!appind wrote:are there specific sections where you mainly improved? how were different sections in oct and are now?slizerd wrote:It took a month. and during that month, I did NOTHING LSAT RELATED AT ALL. I was scoring low 170s all up until the October test (with a dip down to high 160s nearer to the actual test, ugh), then got a 170 in Oct. Didn't study at all between Oct 3 and Nov 1 - took a PT Nov 1 and got a 178. Every PT since then has been at least 176. I think I really just needed that break.WorthlessDegree wrote:For those scoring in the high 170's, how long did it take to jump from the low 170's to high?
i see that i improve in LG with break but not so much in other sections where it may even go down.
LR: -3, -3
RC: -6
LG: -0
A better RC would've saved me =/ I think a huge thing is that, since I'm in grad school, I'm reading a lot of really dense texts. I'm also doing research for my thesis, so I've been skimming through TONS of scholarly articles trying to find the author's main point, argument, etc to see if it's relevant. Which is pretty much exactly what RC has you do. If you can, go to the library (or if you're in school, use your university's online journal database) and just read a bunch of academic journal articles. Try to find the main points, the author's opinion, and where the opposing arguments are.
I agree about the difficulty of that LR... the one about fixing chairs or whatever was stupid

Re: The Official December 2015 Study Group
Don't know what I should do...I have too many finals and papers due this week and I haven't PT'd in the 170s yet. I'm an URM so a score within the 160s should be good enough for the schools that I want to get into but I was scoring in the 160s before the October test and got a 15x. Should I cancel? I really want to apply this year. It will be my second take.
