PT 72

RC(exp) -6 (-5 BR)
RC: -4 (-6 BR)
LR1: -10 (-8 BR)
LR2: -8 (-7 BR)
LG: -2

Score 162 (163 BR).

Going into the October test I was averaging 167-169. Scored a 164. Have been averaging 162-164 since.

I feel like I'm playing a game of whack-a-mole. My games suck, I drill games hard for a week, games improve and then RC drops. Study RC hard for a week, RC improves and then LR drops. I was previously missing 1-5 per section on LR, and today it killed me.

Hoping for some improvement on December test, otherwise I wasted my money and 2 months of studying for the retake.

drilled using PT-24 RC today

-2 in 34:51 min

then, thought why not drill more. so picked 23-RC passages from cambridge bundle. and...

-6 in 36:30 min. if i only count what i got right till 35:00 min then it'd be -9. 3 of these misses are on lev-1 passage and 2 because i misread the question.

i haven't practiced RC that much and did only like 7-8 sections total of any type this week. could this be burnout?

newcareernewtown wrote: Agreed with 62. I also had -3 on that LG two weeks ago, and considering I missed 4 in june I freaked out and in a week learned another, inductive method.

Now I routinely switch between it and my previous, deductive method (the one most courses/booklets teach) depending on the difficulty of the question and my awareness of the inference. That way, if I miss an inference I won't miss the question.

Long story short, that's why I've been perfect on LG for some time.
what's the inductive method

Does anyone have an opinion of doing 2 LSAT's back to back to work on endurance? Or would it be better to use one PT, and then add in 1 or 2 sections from the drilling?

Unless you've already done one of them, I feel like that would be a waste of a PT personally. 6 section tests are fine though.
If you are running out of PTs and have not scored above 165, you have wasted those PTs on unrefined and poor methods. You may be screwed.

My personal recommendation is to use the first few tests, since they are most unlike the present day's. That way you don't waste tests similar to the one you will take.

I also think it good to never do a logic game more than 2-3 times. And especially no LR questions past a BR of that question, and an RC passage loses its use entirely once you do it once, BR or not. This is also presupposing you are reading indepth explanations for the correct ACs as well, in addition to the BRs for LG and LR.

Edit: PMed you, gamerish.

My last score was 173, so really from now until test day I'm looking to eliminate mistakes and establish consistency.

I'm feeling pretty rough right now. I don't drink much anymore and I have been low-carbing 6 days a week so my tolerance is at an all-time low but I went out for a friend's birthday last night and learned the hard way just how much it has gone down. :(

Anyway, LSAT things:

Not a fan of the RC on PT72. Almost ran out of time. I felt good about the LR sections though. I was feeling good about games until I got to the last one, although I wasted too much time on one of the early ones and caught an inference near the end that would have made it a lot faster. I wasted a good minute just staring at the last game in a bit of a panic, and calmed myself down by telling myself it's only 5 questions and worst case scenario I can probably brute force some of them. Good diagram/setup didn't really jump out at me so I want to go over it today and really think through the approach.

RC (exp): -2
RC (actual): -3
LR1: -1
LR2: -0
LG: -2 both on the last game (one guess running out of time, one I had confidently down to two options and chose the wrong one, also when running out of time) :(

I was talking to my s/o about trying to simulate test day conditions as much as possible and he recommended opening the windows on a really cold day and not wearing super warm clothes. I am ALWAYS cold, and so are the test centers, so I don't know why I didn't think to do this before but I will next time.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
