Changes in the test in past 3 years?

Hi there-

This is kind of a shot in the dark, but I am preparing to do some LSAT tutoring this summer. I haven't dealt with LSAT-related stuff in three years (started law school in 2012). I remember when I was studying, I read that the reading passages had gotten harder in the past decade or less, which would obviously still apply today (unless they got easier again). Are there any similar trends anyone knows about that have only taken place within the past three years?

Thanks! :)

When did they introduce the double passages in one reading comp passage? That comes to mind first.

Double passage was in 2007. The biggest change is the return of some outdated LGs.

Yep. See the last game of June 2014 for an example OP (also heard Feb '14 had an old game type (circular) but obviously you can't get a copy of that).

Feb 2014 did have a circular game. I can confirm that.

The June 2014 test devoured many souls.

Many potential applicants walked into those test centers that day. Very few came out...

What type of game was it? Have we seen it in the past before? Or does it come straight from the bloody bowels of hell?

It was a pattern game. They had not been around since PT23.

Haha, kind of both actually. It was a pattern game, but since there have been so few pattern games in the past and each one has been pretty unique there really wasn't a way you could have drilled game types enough to prepare for it. I actually left the test center thanking God that I'd hung onto a piece of advice from one of my prep books about how you shouldn't become too attached to specific game set-ups in case the test throws you a curve ball and you have to improvise, which really was the case on test day. Pretty much everyone had to work with set-ups they had never studied before.

Edit: damn, scooped!

Oh man. Thanks so much everyone! I did know about the comparative reading passages, as I prepped for the LSAT in 2010/2011. Good to know about the rogue circle game though.
