I just got an LSAT score in the 99th percentile, so I'm thinking of signing up to do some tutoring. Any advice on which is the best test prep company to work for? Particularly, which has the highest pay rate and which has the highest volume of students?

I believe Manhattan Prep is the highest pay rate - starts you off at $100/hr - but they want you to have two years of teaching experience.

TestMasters and Blueprint also pay decently and if you apply now you could probably interview for their summer positions.

I'm in LA. Manhattan starts at $100/hr?? Why is Testmasters so comparatively low at $40?

They hire in LA. Also I think Manhattan pays so much more because they have much more stringent requirements for their tutors.

Congrats on such a high score, have you tried offering local tutoring (even if just to a couple people) to see if you can teach?

FWIW after researching a bunch of the companies I think I'd rather work for Blueprint given the chance.

Manhattan is undoubtedly the company to work for, they just have low need, are very selective, and have a training program that is insane. They are looking for long term instructors, not people killing a year before law school generally.

Blueprint is a weekend training program/audition, Manhattan is more than 100 hours of training I believe.

Congrats on the score! Blueprint is a great company to work for, IMO. I went through their instructor training program pretty recently, so feel free to PM me if you want to talk about the application process.

it depends what market. There's not enough hours to go around, so take the salary with a grain of salt. $100/hr is awesome obviously, but how much work you get matters more. I used to work for one of the larger companies but found that I got more hours on my own.
