Omg thank you for reminding me to get pencils! I freaking hate writing with pencils. Bleh. Hurts my ears (weird, I know).

Wow. TLS would have a 46-page discussion about #2 pencils.

I think I'm about to spend $22 on 12 pencils... Is that crazy?

Yes.
The Palomino Blackwing 602's are $22 for a dozen.

So, I'm super weird. The sound of pencils on paper makes me cringe. Scratchy pencils seriously make my whole body tighten up. There's a word for the phenomenon, but I forget what it's called. So, I want the smoothest, least-scratchy pencils that are out there, which is why I'm thinking I should spend the money in hopes that these aren't scratchy sounding. I'm asking my teacher friends which pencils are the least scratchy sounding ha.

Teacher, here. Regular blackwings are much more velvety and smooth than the 602s. I prefer the 602s for LG and RC and regular for LR. Sounds like you'd prefer the regular, but note you have to sharpen them more frequently.

I just like the grip and texture on Tri-Cons. After that, differences aren't huge for me for bubbling.

Off to take 56 as a 4-part. Tomorrow I'll get into the 70s and 5-parters.

Tri-cons are great. What do you use to sharpen yours?

Staedtler, the one with two sizes of sharpener.

Edit: dropped plans to PT, as everyone is jabbering away here in the quiet study section.

Library near me today was so loud I couldn't believe it. Patron arguing with security guard, two guards on their break yukking it up, etc. I ended up switching rooms during break to a quieter room, only to have security take out a group of teenagers to their very loud protests and arguments. Then two other teenagers sat DIRECTLY next to me and listened to an audio recording of Fifty Shades of Grey while giggling. I figure it I can do well today, a proctor or two whispering should be nothing.

Took 2.5 days off and am back up to PT average!! :D Taking a few days off really allowed me to recover from that burnout I was having, thanks to fellow members who recommended it!

168 (PT 64)
171 (PT 71)

How many buffer days between your last day of prep and the test day are y'all takin?

after reviewing pt 72 logic games I think a lot of my mistakes came from being flustered on that first game. .spent about 9-10 minutes spazzing out because I couldn't figure it out. Ended up going back to it later and figuring out how the rules worked but by then only had a few minutes.

Overall that LG section is pretty easy aside from game 4. Game 4 was actually really hard even in blind review (got -2 in blind review, both coming from the last 2 Q's in that game).

I hope we don't get a game like that next week.

Like when I first start drilling a question type, I see a solid increase in my PT scores. But once I start getting to the level 2/3 in the Cambridge packets I notice that my PT scores go down. I was wondering if anyone else noticed the same. I usually drill on my days where I'm not PTing.

173 on PT 71. Honestly kinda thought I did better, -5 in LR and -5 in RC is hard to swallow, my LR should be better.
hmm somewhat I feel the same.

I just feel like drilling logic games for me at this point isn't actually making me any better at them lol. not sure if its the same as your issue though

There once was a TLS'er who took 8 section PTs...one on Saturday and one on Sunday. You're in good company. 8)

You? If so, I bow down to you. When I got to section 8 and realized I had drilled it earlier this week, I was so relieved. Then I went home and redid it anyway, without fifty shades of teens next to me.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
