For PT67 game 4 (zones), I started with just writing all the rules and everything but I didn't really understand that it was max 3 for each of the subzones, I thought it said no more than 3 per zones (groups). So I answered the first question with the rules (pretty easy) and got to 19, which confused me with the answer choices. I finally understood that it was max 3 for each subzones (H, R, I) and was able to finish the game in about 10 minutes with a perfect score. It was definitely difficult to understand the game setup.

Just did PT 47 games timed. Not the most straightforward games. A couple of them had a few twists here and there, but the inferences weren't too difficult and the questions helped you realize those inferences.

One thing about this test is that you can be confident in your abilities without KNOWING that you're going to do well every time. I've been going -0 in nearly all LG sections, but before I take a section I'm like "What if all of those -0s were a lie?!" Also, it's weird/crazy how our perception of time gets so thrown during the test. Especially when you feel like you are taking forever on something, and you realize later that you really didn't spend that much time on it. When I wasn't that good, I felt like I was taking forever, and I actually was. Now, I sometimes feel like I'm taking forever despite the fact that I'm much better, and come to find out, I'm actually going a lot faster. Like for the games section I just took, I felt like I was taking forever, but I finished the section with over 5 minutes to spare.

Took last night off to chill and watch football. Unlike previous experiences, I don't really get nervous/anxious if I miss a study session. I actually think that it's very beneficial. And the past few days I've been trying to get some reviewing and stuff done at work in the mornings before anyone gets here, which takes pressure off to study in the evenings when I'm tired, which also helps come test day to be ready in the AM to perform.

so happy just got a 165 on pt 71, highest PT score yet.

-7 on games.. I still don't think I'll ever understand how you guys are just acing the games section. I always run out of time - blind review games are always very easy.

ugh

EDIT:: also did my best RC section ever .. -3. usally -7 ish but been drilling a ton . also think this PT had pretty cool RC passages. reading about video games and hard work versus talent for the LSAT? Sounds great

I just watched the 7Sage video and while I was doing it during the test, I understand the 9 HRI max part, I just misunderstood the subzones=slots, which afterwards, makes the game a lot easier to understand. I had to guess the last five because of time (picked all D), and luckily got 2 of 5 right, so I only missed 3 in the section.

ugh

Sheer repetition, and honestly, watching the 7Sage videos and applying JY's methods for diagramming.

you are making me consider just re printing every single cambridge game and drilling them to hell. I've been drilling a lot of games sections but I feel like I could get way more reps in if I drilled exclusively with cambridge package. if I could be guaranteed even a -3 on games that would help me score so much

this was the best RC i ever had on a pt so I can't even claim its going to be repeatable for me yet.

but what I did was bought the manahttan RC book and honestly just followed their process starting super slow then gradually into timed sections. When I did my worst at RC I didn't have a process . I just read a bunch of different suggestions from people but never had a systematic approach to the section like I did for LR and LG.

That being said, RC still scares me, I always feel like "this is where the score for this PT goes to shite"

gamerish wrote:How do you guys judge your time when drilling RC? It's not like LG where JY just tells you how long a game should take.

Obviously you don't want to be spending like 12 minutes on a passage but I'm not sure how to go about evaluating my timing otherwise. I've pretty much been happy to finish them in under 8 minutes.

Edit: Should I just drill full sections? That seems like the only solution. Just kind of a pain with the Cambridge bundle.

RC is tough like that. What I try to do is make sure I have reasonable time to work on the next one, if that makes sense. that is basically my judgement. If I'm doing passage 2 and its super hard but I don't know what appropraite time is, if I've worked on it for 8-9 minutes, I'll probably just move on in the interest of not digging into other passage times.

I'd be interested in hearing other peoples opinion though..

Thoughts?

Definitely spend more time on the passage. I used to spend less time on the passage and had to go back to the passage on many questions. You really need to ask yourself questions about the passage as you read: what is the main point of the paragraph and how does it relate to the overall main point? This takes a little more time and at the end of the passage try to summarize and map out the paragraphs with a couple of words. It really does help. I usually now go -3 on RC with a couple -2 and -4,5 but I'm more confident about my answers.

Second 180 today, woo!!! Pt 68!

I did 67 two days ago and also misread the rules for the zones game- not one, but TWO rules. Managed to recover but only realized one of the rules I read incorrectly so still got two wrong. Blah.

lol come on here happy that I accidentally put in a wrong answer on 7sage so my pt today was actually a 166 and not a 165 (both would be my highest scores anyway..) then I see this. congrats haha

Ohh, that's the best feeling! I did a couple weeks ago and it bumped me up two points because of the scaling :D

And cheers on the 166- to put it into perspective that's NINETY THIRD percentile.
