Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I just went through this, and you shouldn't freak out. PT 62 I only did 2 games and went -9 on LG, PT 63 I got a 180 and didn't miss a single question. Bad sections/tests happen. Unless you're consistently struggling, don't worry about it. In fact, worrying about it is the last thing you want to do at this stage.theugg wrote:Guys, I'm totally freaking out. I just bombed this RC section on 75 so badly that I just stopped taking the PT. to be fair, some dude at the Starbucks thought it was a good idea to send me a "smile, you're beautiful" image somehow through my phone ( I have no idea how he did it? Bluetooth? ) which totally through me off half way through the section and creeped me out, but I don't think that's a good enough excuse. I'm barely scraping by at the 172/170 range on these most recent PTs, primarily due to RC. I want to score 170+ on the real thing and I want to apply this round. I already took once and got wrecked on the RC again. Should I postpone to December if I want to apply this round? I want to go to a T14 or UT law.
Also, if your GPA is good, you don't need anything close to 170 to get accepted to a T15.

If you have a 3.85 and consistently get 176+ on PTs, you could probably bomb RC and still get into half of your target schools. You're definitely overthinking this.theugg wrote:Oh, and my GPA is 3.85 at a Top 20 school. I am just getting totally wrecked on RC on the most recent tests. I feel so nervous.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Been off for exactly a month...
The fact that school has been taking up so much of my study time is making me anxious. I took my first practice test in a month and I got the same score as last time, which is a score I'd be comfortable with. I tanked on the first LR and then went -2 on the second one. Definitely hoping -2 will happen on both sections come test day.

I think you're just experiencing pre-test day anxiety. As to whether or not you should postpone until December, I guess that depends on what number of LSAT takes you're on...theugg wrote:How bad would it be to postpone at this point, though? I'm just not feeling confident.

When you guys say UT, which school are we referring to here? Just out of curiosity.PatriotP74 wrote:Hey I'm not the only T14 + UT on here hahatheugg wrote:
Is this your last take?? If so and you don't feel comfortable then waiting until December may not be horrible but at the same time 170-172 are pretty good scores. I'd love to be in that range!

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
It turned out to be three wild LSATers! They were all taking the same Kaplan prep course together. They also all regretted taking the course. Felt like I needed to limit conversation just to avoid coming off as an asshole about the whole thing. Didn't help when one said, "I just wish I could see how your brain works during this..."seashell.economy wrote:You found another LSAT'er in the wild?! Spectacular! I hope you chatted them up. I've tried in vain to find others in real life who are taking this test, to no avail. I even put out a Craigslist ad. Got some, um, interesting responses...TheProdigal wrote:About to start a PT at Barnes and Noble. Hey I'm just curious, RZ, Prodigal, and Mint-Berry, Gamerish. Did any of you take a prep course or have you all self-studied for the entire duration (from the first time you picked an LSAT book up until now) of your prep?

Self-studied the whole time. I got 164 for my diagnostic, so I figured that anything short of a private tutor wouldn't help much, and I don't have the money for that.ltowns1 wrote:Hey I'm just curious, RZ, Prodigal, and Mint-Berry, Gamerish. Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Took PT 75 today and i think RC again pulled me down. 168
i can't seem to figure out how to do well in the recent RC even though i am getting -0/-3 in the old RC. i had may be around 7 mins for the last passage and it didn't feel that tough but i couldn't get to all the questions.
i still have a problem with grouping games in LG. i don't know why but on some questions i missed that the rule about how two items can't occur together. wasted about 5 mins on the last question of the grouping game and i think i got it wrong.
had a couple of minutes remaining in LR1 and about 1 min in LR2. some questions were sort of tricky. i am may be unsure about 1 question on LR2, but i may have missed many more in LR combined going by the way my score turned out.
not sure if i should BR first or just look at how many i missed in each section. either way not happy.
