Has anyone ever been personally offended by a LR question? Shocked to say it happened today haha.

YUP. Did a PT today, and AGAIN got -7 on games because I misread a rule, otherwise having a perfect set up except for that one little thing (costing me 2 points on that game and only having time to answer 1 in the final game because I was so perplexed). It's pretty disheartening. I know I have a small sample size but for the 4 tests I've done, I've scored (excluding diag) 166, 167, 168, 167...all because of a stupid -7 on games...been drilling for a month with 0 gain woot!ltowns1 wrote:bnssweeney wrote:Anyone feel like they just make the most idiotic mistakes under timed conditions? All the time lol
The day I break 170 will be awesome, but today is not that day.

I think Northwestern will probably end up being my best option. They seem generous to splitters.

That's tempting to write an addendum there, yeah. But I don't know that I'd want to introduce the idea that I may have brain damage which affects my performance in my app, ha.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:Heh, sort of same dea for mel. A lot of people considered my 3.3 decent for being an athlete. Now no one cares, and I have a bad GPA lol. Half thinking of writing an addendum, I had one semester where I got a concussion (evidently getting kneed in the head hurts) and missed most of the semester for travel. I would be closer to a 3.4 if I had even a slightly better semester. But I don't know if it would actually make a difference.pittsburghpirates wrote:It's pretty interesting to see the difference of opinion regarding certain GPAs between top law schools and real life. My 3.5x was looked very favorably upon when I was applying to jobs in my current field in UG, yet I'm below the 25% for the vast majority of the T14. Lol oh well
I'll likely be addendum-ing too, though. I was the primary caretaker for my terminally ill mom for the first 5 semesters of college. And I didn't go to college at home. So I was driving home 3 or 4 times a week to change her and cook her lunches, etc. Brought my GPA down hard.

What motivates you to study? The promise of reward (fame and fortune, models and bottles) or the fear of failure (dying poor and alone after a life solitary, nasty, brutish, and short)?

A strange mixture of both TBH, I just feel like if I don't improve by atleast 3-4 points I will be working at burger king for the next 40 years. It is pretty improbable but nonetheless very motivatingRZ5646 wrote:What motivates you to study? Potential scholarship money, that it's my last retake, and my son's future all motivate me.

It's what I was meant to do. My dad was lawyer, he always said I would be a lawyer..and I'm just good and understanding complicated pieces of information. (When I have a lot of time lol) Really knew my dad was right when this gorgeous girl in my Con. Law class said I was the smartest dude in class..lol...I think that sealed it tbh. Lol
The only thing I love just as much is politics.

But in reality, it's about putting in the work because nothing worthwhile has ever been handed out. Law is the career path that I've chosen and this is the first step in achieving success.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I think one my biggest motivations is proving to myself that I can do it. I think of myself as a pretty smart guy who can do this sort of thing well and I want to do my best.
Also the whole "3+ more points could literally mean a million dollar difference in career earnings" thing. The 167-170+ jump is huge.
