I'm with you on this. Parallel flaw are annoying sometimes, but I can generally do them pretty well. I agree that role questions can be a bitch, but I think that what makes them difficult is the ambiguous language they use in answer choices. With practice they seem to get a lot better, though (I need to do more practice). And disagreement questions are a MAJOR bitch. Unless they're in the first 10, I find them to be pretty difficult. Have yet to really drill them though so we'll see if I can get a good habitual strategy down that works amongst most, if not all, of those questions.

PT 29

LR: -3
RC: -5
LG: -3
LR: -5

167

In all of the LR questions that I missed, I managed to get down to two answer choices, but ended up choosing the incorrect answer choice. :(

…Happy Monday!

What do you guys think of running through the Trainer, then using the bibles and Manhattan LR book to go through the Cambridge bundles? Then starting PT's around end of August? I am also planning on taking the SuperPrep tests at the end of June, end of July, middle of August as well.

I'd call this a great place to be so far out from the test; you're basically a hairbreadth away from perfecting LR!

Thanks! and all that I am doing is very simple: taking practice tests and then thoroughly reviewing them after. I feel like my brain is adapting to the "thinking process" the LSAC psychometricians expect law students to have.

Checking in. I just took a timed diagnostic test (PT11) and scored 160. I'm hoping to reach the high 160s/low 170s by October. My breakdown is as follows:

LG: -10
LR1: -9
RC: -2
LR2: -4

For LR, do you guys think it'd be advisable to simply take more tests and then analyze my mistakes afterward instead of focusing on learning "techniques"? I ask this because, having now reviewed my test, I feel as though all of my LR mistakes were the result of not understanding the arguments under the pressure of limited time, as opposed to not knowing what a question was asking me to do or not knowing how to approach any given question.

Now on the reason I came to post to this thread...

Welcome to all of the June LSAT takers that wish to take in October! I hope you all end up doing well on June and don't need to retake though.

Checking in after a miserable June test. LG rocked me.

Last test, I prepped using Powerscore LR Bible and Blueprint LG Book. For RC, I drilled using old PT sections. Don't know where I went wrong in my prep. It's sort of frustrating, but I have a feeling I need to take more PTs. Fitting in a lot was difficult between work and school, but now that it's summer I won't have classes to worry about, and my semester this fall is not as heavy.

Let's hope October will be better than June.

Logic games killed me yesterday, so I'm definitely going to retake in October.

Checking in, need to hit the ground running.

I have all three of the Manhattan books, and looking to get the Trainer. I have logic games by type (I think for PT 1-38?), going to also buy the logical reasoning by type for drilling. Then full PTs up to the 70's, probably start those in August.

Any suggestions on how to match up the LR questions for drilling as I'm going through Manhattan LR?

I completely hear you there. While this test can be disheartening, know that a LOT of it can be mastered through practice. I took my first one and scored a surprising 160. I had all of the tools to do better, and had been receiving mid 170's on my practice tests. I was devastated to open that email and get my score back (especially because I thought I did ok on the test contemporaneous to taking it).

BUT, I realized I had not truly mastered taking the test in testing conditions. So I hunkered down for a month in the law library, taking a practice test under simulated testing conditions (no checking answers, no going over time, etc.) at least three times a week and ended up with a 171 and an HLS admission.

I think you are on the right track! Don't get down on yourself. Also, if you have any specific questions about sections, prompts, practice exams, etc. Please feel free to ask!

I would say you are in a great position as well, and congrats! But if you have any specific questions from this practice test let me know and I can help you diagnose common mistakes and solutions.

Checking in as well. I took the LSAT back in December and decided to take a year to study for the LSAT. Can't believe I've been studying for this test for a year now (on and off but still...). Hopefully I won't have to retake it again after October.

Has anyone purchased the Kindle version of the Logic Games Bible? Do you have trouble using it or wish you had purchased it as paperback? I know it's the same cost as the paperback, but I like not having to carry physical books with me.

I had Amazon send a sample of the Manhattan Guides to my iPad to try out. I ended up buying the physical copies. I don't really like reading textbooks/prepbooks as an ebook. Maybe I'm just old fashioned. You could try out a sample version and see if you like it or not.
