Hey just reviewed this. Somehow got this right both in timed and blind review although this section was overall bad for me. Anyway..theugg wrote:Anyone who just took 74 have a good explanation for RC #24?! I am just so confused. The right answer looks like an unjustified comparison to me.
Line 45 basically states this. More familiar = more acultured , therefore more politically acitve accoriding to garcia

Ya'll better stop talking about how hard 72+ RC is before I lose all confidence

Yeah the stealing thunder passage got me too.
In other news, just did PT 72 RC. Got -8, which I'm okay with considering all of the talk about how hard this section was. I'd be fine with a -8 on the actual take provided that my LR scores stay where they have been in the -2 to -3 range. The bad thing about the section is I got lucky, though. I didn't even get to the last passage except for a quick read through and answering the first two questions. My guesses of straight D yielded me two more correct answers on that last passage. The second passage killed me though. If I had an extra five minutes in RC, I'd be golden. Tis the nature of the test. I really tried to focus more on anticipation, summarizing the paragraphs as I read, and referring back to the passage more (which was easier because of the summarizing as I read).
I took the second section (LR) and bombed it. -8. Granted, I'm sitting in my living room and my mom's bf wanted to come out and make a ton of noise. Had to stop the section twice. Not to mention it's hot as holy hell in here. Still, it has just added to my frustration and stress that has been piled on as a result of these new tests. Why couldn't they keep the 40s-60s form they had?!

I'm with you.fishpaste1 wrote:Ugh. I'm already so fucking nervous for Saturday. I've been trying to avoid this thread because it makes me even more anxious. Part of me wishes I had another week to practice and drill, but part of me also wishes I could just take it tomorrow morning and get it over with. Fuck. Why can't I just pay someone for a 170?
Taking PT 70 tomorrow. Unless I completely bomb it, I think it will be my last PT until Saturday. I'm planning on spending Wednesday/Thursday/ Friday working on misc games and making sure my conditional diagramming is flawless. Maybe a couple CR passages as well. Fuck.
I think I'm going to do two timed sections tomorrow, and then a PT on Wednesday, spend Thursday softly reviewing stuff and then watch some 7sage on some of the tougher games, and then chill Friday.

This 100%. Lighten the fuck up people. You get 3 takes. Worst case scenario is you sit out this cycle and move back in with your parents while "gaining real world experience," just like half the millennials you know. And stressing in itself will likely hurt your score. For your own sake, you should be acting like you're guaranteed your target score.fishpaste1 wrote:I've been trying to avoid this thread because it makes me even more anxious.
