Nice. Will def try this out!schmelling wrote:most of the really well-stocked grocery stores (especially in areas with strong jewish populations) will carry frozen malawach- you may have to search for it in the freezer section- and it is really good. Or find a middle eastern market, they will definitely hook you up. You just melt some butter on medium-low and fry it kinda slow on a pan.msp8 wrote:Interesting! I've never had malawach before. I had to look it up because I thought you were talking about malawah -- also Yemeni, but just bread. Not fried puff pastry stuff. Think Indian naan bread, but much better.schmelling wrote:Ohhhh my god jachnun is the best! Ever had malawach rigo? Its the same dough but formed flat and pan fried so it is crispy. Served with the same stuff. Both are soooo good.
I'm just terrified of flying. The longest flight I've been on was to Antigua, and that was 4 hours too long.CambrianExplosives wrote:It's truly hell. It's 10-12+ hours in a small cramped area. It's super hard to sleep and the air feels weird. At least you get to watch a lot of movies and get food. It's not good food, but its more than you get on domestic flights. Except for Turkish Airlines. They spoiled us with food. They had an in-flight chef that made a full meal on a flight that lasted ~2 hours. The Abyss wrote:I can't imagine being in an airplane the length of time it takes to get to another continent. Although flying might be more enjoyable when the destination isn't Detroit.
Thelonious Monk is brilliant. I was listening to him and Coltrane earlier.schmelling wrote:thelonious monk+highland park= schmelly's dream

I did chest/tris post test but I ate two slices of pizza for lunch and a burger for dinner. I had to have a cheat day for the test. I'll be more geared towards fitness tomorrow but I talk about food even when working out. I'm a fat kid at heart.nlee10 wrote:I'm waiting for the fitness part.RaiderRed wrote:Mega fat. The other night I learned that double kettlebell front squats with resistance bands really, really suck. I was using a lot less weight than I do when I back squat, and I'm really sore still. Great change of pace.nlee10 wrote:I'm waiting for the fitness part.RaiderRed wrote:Mega fat. A primary reason for me to do any fitness is to be able to eat more.nlee10 wrote: I'm waiting for the fitness part.
Take Five is classic stuff. My favorite would be between Corea and Hancock, but that is influenced by my love of fusion and funk as well as jazz.schmelling wrote:so good. are you a dave brubeck fan as well? he is my actual favorite pianist. The Abyss wrote:Thelonious Monk is brilliant.
