Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
I'm so hungry. I need 2 pieces of toasted whole wheat, brie, cucumbers, jalapeno peppers, pulled pork (a lot of it), and a dash of lime juice (in the pulled pork). Right now.

One of his coworkers gave him a peanut butter sandwich, a banana, and a bag of chips for lunch one day & since he had never had potato chips before, he didn't know what to do with it. He crumbled them up and put them into his sandwich, along with the banana, and that was it- that's how pepper grew up eating PB, banana, and potato chip sandwiches.
Salt and Vinegar chips added to either a tuna fish or a ham&cheese is amazing. I'm now curious about this PB&Banana&Chip sandwich.
Also, I've stuck chips on tuna sandwiches before but not the salt and vinegar kind. I put the chili cheese fritos on there, it's delish.

Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
we had a nice mix at my school. Most greek's got along with each other and wasnt too much exclusion of those outsideschmelling wrote:ours was cliquey, but moreso with greek life as a whole. Most of the frats got along with each other pretty well and hung out, but less so with people outside greek life. It never felt institutional in any way. we didn't have a greek row or anything like that so that could be why.Dirigo wrote:Greek life was pretty non-existent at my school & it was a huge party school. I liked it like that because it was way more chill than institutionally cliquey.

Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
There's so much I could say about how things work in China and how it's different from the US lol. But it's really difficult to eat healthy here. You're barely going to get any nutritional facts on 99% of the products you buy, and the ones with nutritional facts are super sketchy. They don't have the FDA here like they do in the US.peppermint wrote:I've never tried it but I love the brie and jalapeno combo. I usually do brie with sweet stuff like figs or strawberries, but I should really try it with savory things. Btw, PNJ, what do you normally eat everyday where you're at? Like do you make Chinese food at home or more American stuff?
People don't have ovens. All the cooking is done on a stovetop, with a ton of oil. I mean a lot of oil. We fry things or sautee them in a gallon of oil.
Also, the bad kinda carbs everywhere. White flour everywhere. Noodles, rice, whatever. I don't even think you can buy brown rice in grocery stores.
Bread really isn't a thing.
I don't know how they get the milk here, but it's gross, and it doesn't sit well with me. I can drink American milk and imported European milk no problems, but I become mega lactose intolerant the moment I ingest China-made milk.
So basically I bought me a mini-oven, and I cook for myself. I know a butcher here where I can get gigantic cuts of beef for cheap (don't know why I said free), and I have a george foreman grill for my steaks. I eat steak, chicken (cooked after being marinated, via the oven), and vegetables. I get most of my carbs from fruit, but I have some potatoes and whatnot in my meals too.
There is no supplement industry. I'm not talking pre-workout, I mean multivitamins and fish oil. Bare-bone nutritional supplements all have to be imported, and face a very hefty import tax.
And then I eat out. I have a pretty simple diet, to be honest. I don't have the luxury of making the aforementioned sandwich in China.
Oh, and quality cheese is super freaking expensive. You wouldn't believe.
Anyway, this is probably my most discursive post ever. There's a lot I can say about modern China and its culture. It's unique because it evolved so quickly; it was third world only a few decades ago. Now we have skyscrapers and expensive European cars everywhere.

Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
Juts to continue on this China talk, I'm not sure if you're aware, but the American University admissions consulting business in China is booming. I've met a ton of people already doing that kind of work here, so I don't know if it's a tapped market or not, but you have a lot of very (recently) wealthy Chinese kids rearing to go to American universities. The law school admissions market here isn't very developed, but UG admissions is off the charts (in terms of market pricing). If Spivey Co. ever thinks of expanding, I don't know, it's worth a look.MikeSpivey wrote:I know all

Although the issue is youd have to leave the Pw up for the duration of voting, so that's not gonna work. Poll who's most likely to die first in a zombie apocalypse out of the 10 most recent posters or something.
