Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
Love that all of you want to travel as much as I do! The thing is for me, I don't have very specific ideas in mind about where I want to go in any type of order.
I want to go everywhere pretty much...Would love to do a world trip in a year...at one point I was serious about selling my house and using the equity to accomplish this...I have read many blogs of families that trot the globe for a year or a few years (homeschooling in many cases if they had kids)...I really feel like traveling would be the best education a kid could get, even at the expense of traditional education if you went for a short period like a year or two....bc what can beat a world perspective in terms of preparedness for life?
Anyway, ITFR I had a friend who did live in with an African village for over a year...she loved it! They took very good care of her
As far as immediate goals before school starts, I want to cook/bake a lot and hopefully take some ballroom dancing lessons...ya girl can't dance (at least in the sense of proper dance styles)

GIRLLLLL... just a little longer This was your second take, right? I felt like that was the hardest wait for me. This was my last take, so I'm just kinda like whenever they come, they come...lol...I did stay up til midnight to turn in a half-ass app for Duke since I found out at like 10pm that yesterday was their deadline I plan to send in additional items like an updated PS and addendums upon completion since the admission office will allow you to update your file, but geez! I was cutting it close!sfoglia wrote:How many days do we have left to wait? SIGH.

My uncle has had season tickets since the stars moved from Minnesota to Dallas so I grew up getting to go to games.msp8 wrote:What got you into hockey anyway? You're in Texas, right?RaiderRed wrote:I wanna go back to Germany. Also Canada for a hockey game and A World Cup in England.

Nice. I miss those DAL/COL/DET rivalry days, with Modano/Hatcher/Lehtinen/Zubov/Belfour up against Yzerman, Fedorov; Sakic, Forsberg, et al. Great hockey.RaiderRed wrote:My uncle has had season tickets since the stars moved from Minnesota to Dallas so I grew up getting to go to games.msp8 wrote:What got you into hockey anyway? Love this reason! I love cultures and different people...even though I don't understand or sometimes don't agree with certain lifestyles and ways of life, I have a desire to, and want to see people for who they are, not just based on preconceived notions I have based on certain subsets of traits they may have, etc. Idk if this makes a lot of sense, but it this reason you gave speaks a lot to my view on life and ppl as a whole...so i think that's cool

God those line ups were so stacked and the games were always gritty. The stars should've won back to back cups. That team was amazing.msp8 wrote:Nice. Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
Also, on this subject, my daughter saw my tar and asked if she [audrey hepburn] had anorexia...maybe I am missing something? I'm not naturally thin, like I have to work my ass off to be thin, so I see girls who are and am pretty jealous, but when I see girls who have some muscle behind the thinness, I feel motivated and proud of them...esp the ones who are naturally thin since they technically "don't have to" work for it, and yet they still do. Interesting.justabitunusual wrote:schmelling wrote:

guys I just broke 80kg on the scale. Granted, it's almost all food and I'll be back to my normal weight after defecating tomorrow, but this is a milestone.

Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
As a native Detroiter and big Wings fan, there was no rivalry with Dallas from Detroit's perspective. Dallas was a top team with Detroit, competing for Western Conference supremacy in the late 90s and early 2000s, but they weren't a rival. Toronto, Chicago and Colorado (not so much anymore since they've been awful for awhile now) are Detroit's main rivals. To a lesser degree Detroit has rivalries with much of the Original 6.msp8 wrote:Nice. The Russian Five, Yzerman, Vernon, Osgood, Shanahan, Hull, Chelios, Lidstrom, etc. Out of all of them my favorite player to watch was Konstantinov. His skill level and physical presence were topped only by Lindros and Stevens. It's a shame his career and livelihood were cut tragically short.

ETA: This video demonstrates the first lesson of hockey. Do not EVER lower your head/drop your eyes while skating open ice in the neutral zone. You will be punished.
