We did do a philanthropy event involving pushups.... Although a more recent one would be winning a DZ tug of war competition.

Yeah metoo, i've known Shane for years. Our entire friend group is hurting over it. The whole thing just makes no sense. I know its really hurting his family, closure is really important for things like this

I don't like any music with words because I feel forced to agree/disagree with the singer. So that simplifies things considerably re. my taste.

Like as a kid of the 90s I would sing along to rap etc. because I liked the beat/voices but in retrospect I'm not sure I can any longer identify with a song that brags about armed robbery of pizza delivery men, regardless as to how awesome the rhythm is.

<3 you Wieters but you know it's not bragging about it/glorifying it at all right? That song (and probably the video even more so) is really powerful and pretty on point.

Watch it again when you get a sec and pay attention to the entire thing, from start to finish. Like each shot is used very specifically and tells another piece of the story. & pay close attention to the lyrics and what they're saying—not just the beat—and compare those lyrics/that imagery with the last few seconds of the video when he wakes up and tell me if that's still the impression you walk away with.

haha, only if you're willing to put up with the occasional 80s power ballad I know Journey's not heavy metal but I listen to them a lot (such good songs to belt out when stressed!) Also, how do you feel about Black Sabbath? Rage Against the Machine? They're some of my fave bands ever.

I also really like classical. Stuff like Rachmaninoff, Handel, etc. I think it was Nightwish that really made me like the two extreme genres

Downriver, ha, haven't heard that term in a while. Agreed on . I have many a good memory from being 19 and 20 in Windsor, before you needed a passport to go over.

Haha yeah, Windsor was like a 19+ Vegas. The holding up your hand to point out where you're from thing never gets old! Definitely feel like other states don't do that but idk.

God I'm so sorry. A TON of people from my HS go to/went to WCU so it's all over my news feed. I hope there is some closure soon, it's so sad.
