Pretty sure you're still employed elsewhere. See: an Enterprises of sorts.

For those without context ITT: GT emailed me a "Date Application," cover letter and everything, to date me.

I honestly don't know anything about what frats do outside of their "social events," since my school did not have Greek life. That said, parties on my campus were extremely tame compared to schools that do have Greek life. I chaired the disciplinary board, and the worst cases we ever saw were for drugs and noise complaints. I'm sure that mostly has to do with campus culture, irrespective of the absence of fraternities and sororities.

But frats are social organizations, and when they dominate campus life, I think it's safe to assume that they have some impact on the character and culture of the college. On my campus, academic life was the centerpiece of the student experience. People went to parties on the weekends, but it wasn't the reason for being there. I'm just not convinced that's true in most schools that have a strong Greek presence.

But again, I have very limited experience with Greek life, so I'm probably making some unwarranted assumptions.

I would probably think that this has something to do with it, my school is certainly academically respectable but it's not Oberlin. It's a "playboy party school", huge university, $$$$$ on athletics, etc. so while you could certainly find an academic niche (as I did) it was more the exception than the rule. Ton of bars just off-campus (literally like one side of the street is campus, cross traffic and you're off campus and the bars are just all next to each other basically), even a "Greek life" bar that was known to be the "greek hangout" and they'd give out like VIP cards that let you skip the line/get % off your bill, etc. for all the chapter presidents and "popular people", etc.

Even though greek life wasn't huge by numbers, the presence definitely was. Again there are exceptions to everything, but regardless of greek life or not, whether you were an athlete, band member, or a chem major working in the cafeteria to offset tuition, either way I think your average/typical student was really there to balance doing as little work as possible while still being able to graduate and get a job/make $, with partying/tailgating/etc. as much as possible. I know it's college but literally like Mon-Sun were "going out" nights depending on your peer group, class schedule, etc.

(Also just curious but GT what is your undergrad college mean for GPA/LSAT on your report? My undergrad is like a 152 and a 3.18)

Has anyone else had a 165+ in the past and got emails from Kaplan and other LSAT prep companies around the time your score was to be released? I'm scared they know I screwed up on my test and should retake.

I think it's safe to assume that Kraplan doesn't know your score before you do. Don't worry!

I actually dont mind guys approaching me, its just how thats the problem. I've never actually had a guy offer to buy me a drink or attempt normal conversation. Its always an invasion of personal space or some crude comment.

According to JW, women are too.

Also, JW - how does that make you feel (re: womyn putting the movez on you)? I need to know. For science.

tl;dr: hoomans suck. we should all just be cat ladies.

Ha disclaimer: I haven't gone out since like October but honestly I like it.

Like I said I've probably hyper sensitized myself to be careful when it comes to approaching a woman, etc. but it's a relief to not have to worry about if I did something to set this girl off—for instance, I saw someone ITT say they don't like to be touched, and I totally get that. I'm the type of person that often talks with my hands, and can just be a very "touchy" person. Nothing behind it at all.

But I remember talking to some girl one time and her saying something really sad and like depressing and I basically put my hand on her shoulder the same way I would have with anyone in this thread, male or female, just to try to be like "one human to another I feel for you" and I just remember her looking at me like my hands were covered in acid and being like "don't ever fucking touch me again" and like glaring at me. Obviously that was that.

But I was basically like "uhhh what the fuck?" for a few days because I'm not a creep, etc. and just didn't like the idea that this girl walked away thinking ___ about me and I just couldn't get why she reacted like that. In the aftermath, one of my girl friends who saw the whole thing go down and know's what kind of person I am etc. kind of put 2 and 2 together for me—that she likely had other issues or something pre-existing pertaining to sexual assault in her past and that yeah I should be more careful about "touching" random people even if it's 100% not creepy/not sexual at all. Some people just don't like to be hugged, touched, etc. at all.

So yeah, idk I'm a pretty flirty person by nature but it's really refreshing to just be able to go out and be with my friends, have a good time, etc. and not do laps around the bar or like look for anything, and to not have to worry about someone going off into a fit because I did something unintentional. Literally I'll just keep looking at a girl if she's cute etc. will smile, might mouth hi, etc. but anything that's clear "oh this guy is hitting on me" I usually let them make that first move now. Sometimes it's innocent and she'll just come up and say "hey" other times I've literally had a girl jump on top of me, throw herself on me while I was dancing alone, grab me with one hand and try to kiss me with the other, etc.

ALSO CONGRATS GT!!!!

The first time I took the LSAT I kept getting emails from different places like that on the day of the release. That being said, the first time I took the LSAT was in February of 2013 and that was the first and only time scores actually came back on the scheduled release date, so you can't really infer much from that. But that would be awesome if that meant scores were coming out today!

Would it even be legal for LSAC to release scores to outfits like Kaplan before they're released to test takers? Sounds awfully shady.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh…. I got a mail from LSAC telling me that my name on the answer sheet doesn't match the one on LSAC master file (I forgot to space my super long first name like a dumb f), and if I don't send/fax it soon my scores will be delayed.

I'm faxing it soon. Do you guys think it's okay to send them an email about it? Maybe to ask for confirmation or something. If it's delayed, how long would that take? My decision to apply this cycle depends on this score. At this point I'm mad at myself and I'm panicking. Now I'm retracting to Dec 6, wondering and hoping that I didn't make careless mistakes. I thought my brain was sharp and functioning. Ugh. Their mail is postmarked for Dec 19 but I have on idea why I received it just now.

They also drafted this letter on Dec 15th so hey, it looks like LSAC is actually keeping up. Looks like scores are finally rolling in this week.
