Umm yes!! I can totally relate. My parents honestly just do not understand the struggle. I'm down to move to philly.

I've heard both raves and horror stories about Accutane. Mostly that it's just a really rough experience. Is that how it was for you?Bravo wrote:koala-fy wrote:Holy pretty. And also, your skin is amazing.
I appreciate the compliment but that's just a good pic of my skin. I have trouble with break outs like most people I even took accutane as a teen.

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS (New Poll!!)
It definitely has it's down side. For me I would say that it was worth it because I was very insecure about my skin growing up so I would pile on the make up and let's be honest, it really didn't look ANY better. I mostly just had extremely dry skin and chapped lips. I'd be hesitant to recommend it for others though just because I know that it can cause severe side effects in certain cases. For me it helped my skin a TON. Overall, I'd say it's worth it if nothing else works but to be careful and go off of it if you notice any side effects progressing.koala-fy wrote:I've heard both raves and horror stories about Accutane. Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS (New Poll!!)
Yeah I've heard it dries your skin out like crazy. I really only break out mildly around, um, shark week and occasionally otherwise, so I would never be a candidate. But I'm really interested because I know people who were on Accutane. Blood work every month, pregnancy tests, etc. Definitely a last resort and nothing to mess with.Bravo wrote: It definitely has it's down side. Birth control also helps some with break outs/bad skin.
Obvs, there are side effects there too.

It's definitely worse if you go on it as a female. You need TWO types of birth control and you need to sign a legal agreement and get both blood work and pregnancy tests every month? TMI? IDK lol Ya it's a big commitment so it honestly just depends how big of a problem your skin is for you and if it really bothers you. It's a pain in the behind but I would argue it's not quite as dangerous as everyone makes it out to be. EVERYONE will have super dry skin but only a very small percentage will have any severe side effects at all and if they do they're rarely permanent.
PSA- Girls on accutane DON'T get pregnant. I googled the pics. It ain't pretty.

Did BC make anyone gain weight? My friend freshman year gained a very noticeable amount from it

Yeah, BC def doesn't always help. I had never had a single pimple (like, ever ever) until I started a certain type of BC.Bravo wrote:BC didn't personally help my skin but I have heard it works wonders for some people.Shakawkaw wrote:Birth control also helps some with break outs/bad skin.

ETA: If I go off BC I'll lose like 5 lbs in a second. Go back on and that 5 lbs comes back. It's rough.

And the minute I stopped, the breakouts went away with it.
