And we found out that some of the girls that had lived there last year got similar notes on the same stationery.

The problem I find is people who have not written/studied the LSAT don't realize that it is not just another multiple choice exam where "you did the best you can" attitude works. Also, they don't consider how important this one score is... Oh well, just do what you have to - and don't let other people's misconceptions guide you.
