i remember looking at one of the threads and someone found a link that depicted the instate boost at UVA. this was a 2008/09 pool so its probably more disproportional now. the state was like the OOS accepted stats were a 3.7/170 and the instate was a 3.52/164.

Well, time to establish domicile in Virginia.

i was wrong guys, that 164 was for waitlist. here is the quote:

73 applicants applied from the state of Virginia (on LSN)

21 were accepted, with an average split of 3.58/170
21 were waitlisted, with an average of 3.46/164

of all applicants on LSN (see, this isn't perfect, as all applicants includes the 73 from Virginia)

305 accepted, average 3.75/172
316 waitlisted, average 3.62/168"

this was from a 2009 post. so assume the median slipped by a point. and also there might be a better chance getting of waitlist now than in 2009 (idk if this is true or not). so instate is pretty good at uva too. just not texas or unc level (i read somewhere on here it was 75% from NC, not verified though)

guys, how the heck do you use the search feature of LSN to look for applicants by state? I tried filtering it and all i get is "no recent user activity"

Knowing admissions stats won't help, and LSN data is so dirty (especially for splitters) I just treat is as a general guideline. Do you really want to go to the school? Apply there. Do you have fee waivers at schools you kinda maybe could see yourself going to? Apply there. It's that easy. Just avoid schools where you don't meet their GPA floor or something.

25th percentile means 1/4 of the class has that GPA or lower. So no. GPA floor is the absolute lowest GPA that school has historically admitted for regular applications (not URM, haven't cured cancer, not a senator, haven't been to the moon, etc.) Basically it's like 3.4 or something for HYS, 3.0 or something for T10, yada yada.

So the last time the test was taken on Saturday, December 6th and the scores were supposed to be back on Monday, January 5th, the scores were actually released on Monday, December 29th. Just saying!

Any thoughts on the probability of this happening?

Very low since they're on vacation till Friday. I suppose it's possible that they programmed scores to go out tomorrow, but the probability of that is also fairly low.

Where they not on vacation that year?

I like how this thread has been helpful. Sure it's not exactly fun as PnJ (who isn't even a waiter) and GT have pointed out multiple times, but we shouldn't discourage people who have actual on-topic questions and are more likely to ask us than create a new thread.
