Any advice on milking those last few points out of LR? I've been drilling a lot, I'm guessing to just continue to do this? I'm getting to the point where the cambridge LR questions are looking pretty damn familiar since I've done them so many times over for certain Q types. I'm getting around 19-21 correct on timed sections, with anywhere between 22- perfect on blind review.

Thanks.
I'm definitely not the person to ask about LR. My 165 LSAT was -4LR -8RC and -6LG. My current PTs are generally averaging -6LR -2RC -2LG. I am really working to drain the last drops from LR so I have more wiggle room in RC and LG. I have a couple of dumb mistakes, but I've been generally good at identifying which questions I'm iffy on. I really just need more experience with it, which is what the next two months are for.

Cool man. I'll continue to drill on then, and you'll probably be doing the same I guess?

Thanks for the advice, I'll be seeing you around soon (hopefully not in this thread as a retaker).

goodnight

I did horrendously on my cold diagnostic in June. I decided to retake the same test today. Though I have been getting better (especially at LG) I haven't been studying as much as I should have. I haven't been hitting my personal goal of 10 hours per week, but work has been nuts lately and I've been to exhausted to study more than 2 hours or so per night, if at all. (Excuses, excuses...) I'm not kidding, my hands were SHAKING as I checked my answers. I had this massive fear that I was going A) get the same score, or B) actually do worse.

Time to kick myself for freaking out. I scored 11 points higher! :D

It's not a respectable score, and it's not even close to what I need to get on the actual test, but I'm very happy (and relieved!) to see improvement after only two months of not-so-serious prep.

Just took a cold diagnostic and i made a 139 timed and it was bumped up to 144 untimed (meaning i finished the sections after the time was expired). I need to work on my logical reasoning. Any advice would be great, seeing as im looking at making 165+!

I would start out with The LSAT Trainer by Mike Kim.
http://www.thelsattrainer.com

Appreciate! I just received my LSAT Trainer Friday and I have older versions of the PS Bibles and a lot of actual LSAT tests. Do you think that will be good for full prep? Or do you suggest I add anything to help?

Can someone explain why on PT53, S1, Q21 to me. I feel like I can buy into "A" being the correct answer, but I still feel like if I were to tackle a similar question, I would still pick an answer more like "E."

Checking in. Took the June LSAT cold and did horribly. Not my best idea, I know. But I wanted my first diagnostic to be under real conditions. Planned for a September retake but I've decided to push back until December. Goal is 170. Using 7sage and powerscore.

I would appreciate any input or advice from you seasoned LSAT preppers :D Happy studying everyone!

Take the test in September or December: this week, or next week, I'm not sure, is the last week to sign up for the September test. The benefit of the September test is that it will be right before school begins (under the quarter system). The bad thing is that I am not sure I will be as ready as I would like. Taking the test in December means I will be in the throes of school, cramping my time to study on the LSAT, leaving me in a situation that is no better than if I had taken it in September. The week is almost over, obviously, I don't have this planned out, so it appears I will be taking the December test. Argh. School on top of studying for the LSAT. Not looking forward to it.

At least you're in the intellectual mindset and you're prepped for studying. Studying for the LSAT with a full time job (55+ hours) that doesn't stress you intellectually sucks.

Checking in. I'm swallowing my pride and sitting out because I got little scholarship/aid at a lower t14. Here's for some $$$!

How'd you score, Sinatra?

And what study methods did you find effective/ineffective during your prep leading up to taking it the first time? Thanks!

Im taking it in December and have been preping for a month and a half... already hate my life, but im sure I can crack the lsat (probably not). Im taking powerscores online course and have found that I could have done it even without the class; just the books.

Took my first cold diagnostic today and got a 160. Only 9 correct on the logic games, which I find pretty unsettling especially when considering it seems like many people here study for 6+ months. Trying to create a rigid study schedule to help me reach the 172-173 area by December. Incredibly nervous, but I figure it's worth a shot. Ugh, good luck everyone.

Hey Everyone,

Decided to jump on this thread and give up on the September 2014 LSAT. lol  Have been studying since June, more or less. I worked full time so I didn't fully commit as I should have. Still taking the online Blueprint Course and it has helped, however I want to be able to get to the 170s. At this point, I am debating on not finishing the course and just moving straight to the Powerscore bibles, The Trainer, and nonstop drills using the lawschooli.com 3 month schedule.

Side note, the course has been incredibly helpful in laying out the basics but I found myself referencing a lot of times the Powerscore LR book to get a better grasp on certain concepts. Most of the TLS users, if not all that I've seen, that have broken into the 174+ range did self study only (or primarily).

Any advice?

Older PowerScore LRB and LGB.

Just ordered Manhattan RC and The Trainer.
Good luck to all.

What happened to OP? Looks like he was all about getting SERIOUS and NO EXCUSES, but hasn't been on since March.

Well I was aiming for the Sept LSAT but am feeling nervous with just a month from the test date so...will (probably?) switch to Dec LSAT instead.

What do you guys do when you can't figure out a LR/RC question? There are some that even with the Manhattan forums I just can't seem to fully wrap my head around.
