:) both 178! Well above my highest PT before sept.

I reviewed these tests extensively when I took them the first time, but it was a while ago. I remembered some of the harder LR questions, and I had a basic idea of the RC passages too. So definitely not representative, but still a good day.

I missed my TM class on Wed and today (PT 2), because I've been recovering from surgery (donated part of an organ on Wednesday, so my health is fine, but recovery is a bee. Probs tmi, but whatevs; I don't know you guys). I haven't studied in like a week and am way behind on drilling/have only taken 2 PTs.

I'm thinking more and more I'll take February, but maybe I should still take Dec? I know that I won't be ready to meet my retake threshold by Dec, but maybe it would be good practice? Especially since most of the schools I'm looking at take the most recent score or take a holistic approach to viewing both as opposed to averaging. I'm also applying next cycle, so waiting won't hurt my chances at admission. I just don't think 40 days is enough to improve 10ish points. Thoughts?

TL;DR: Should I take Dec and Feb or just Feb?

what organ did you donate?

10 pts is a lot in 40 days but its not at all impossible.

I would advise against sitting for the test just for practice, especially since you have already taken it once, so you know how the whole process goes. While most schools do look at the most recent/highest score, I have heard from many admissions officers that they prefer to see fewer scores, it just looks cleaner and there is less explaining to do, whatever that counts for. This also leaves you open to 2 retakes, instead of 1 since you can only take the test 3 times in any 2 year period.

I am also planning to raise my score by 10 points and I think it can be done!! But since you planning to apply next cycle, maybe just wait until Feb?

I'd better start though if I want a chance at going to school with some of you fools.

If you're already sitting out a cycle, why not just take it in June? Feb. sounds lame because the test isn't disclosed after taking it. And seems silly to rush and take December if you're not ready.

Hope you have a speedy recovery process!

September sounds best for your schedule, mist. Maybe June too. I'm just going off of when you said was the firm's busiest time of year. That's such a long time away though. God, I hope I won't have to worry about LSAT anymore by then.

Dec is going to be my first take....and hopefully my last. At the rate of my score improvement, as long as I don't have a nervous breakdown, I should be good.

Oh, well in that case - I would suggest sitting for December. I sat in on September knowing I wasn't totally ready and I'm glad I did. Going into December, I know what I can expect and can practice accordingly. The biggest advantage you get is knowing what a real LSAT test feels like because simulated tests can never get close enough, imo. Git it gurl.

I don't think that is enough to be honest. If one did 3 a week, which isn't strenuous, then it could be reasonably expected to hit around 18-20 before the test.
