Dirigo wrote:Mid 160's average, but I wasn't super consistent. I would fluctuate greatly from test to test, which indicates to me that my good scores are more luck than solid skills I can rely on. Some tests, I did wonderfully and aced LG. Others, it would be a disaster (disaster for me is -6+, mind you). Sometimes I do great on LR with -3 average, whereas other times I do -6+ average.
So instead of burning through more preptests and crossing my fingers, I'm backtracking and going to really solidify the fundamentals with drilling so I can have more confidence with PT's going forward. I have around 30 PT's left, starting from PT 41 to present.

Keep it up dude! Even though you have done the earlier PT's, I would just get the Cambridge packets for PT 1-38 and drill. I've been "studying" since July but now that I look back, everything was half-assed thinking that I studied. lol.... My cold diagnostic in July was a 136 (no jokes) and I'm now up to 148/149 after a month of studying.

Since switching over to the Manhattan LR and Blueprint LG last week + relevant drilling, I've noticed significant improvement when approaching LR Q-types and some of the game types. I'm moving out of my parent's house to my own apartment this weekend so I'll have to wait till early next week to take a fresh PT and reassess where I stand. Hopefully at least 155!
Hmm... me and you seem to be in a very similar boat. I started studying in July as well and my diagnostic was around the same as yours. Since then, I've only taken 2 prep tests since. I've been drilling the heck out of questions. I haven't graded my last PT because Im still doing the blind review, just have RC to complete. But Im saving it for later for when I drill RC only.

Remember, make sure you don't burnout. Take a couple of days off if things start to take their toll on you. This week I decreased the hours I was studying. This week, the test whole notion of the test started to get to me. Thats why I'm taking it slowly and reviewing the approaches from PS as well as Manhattan. I'm weak in all of the areas, but I'm definitely having the most trouble with LG. That's why I'm going to be drilling these questions, re-doing them and working on making inferences/deductions.

Good luck with your studying!
