Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
so i drilled the Sufficient Assumption packet to death today and here are some thing's i noticed and picked up on. hopefully this helps some
How to approach the problem:
1) find the conclusion
2) find the premise (usually only 1/ but there can be 2. three or more is very rare)
Now, ask your self if you see a term shift between the premise and conclusion. Almost always there is. And if there is, find an answer choice bridging that gap. When I say term shift, I mean literally that. Is there something the conclusion talking about that is never mentioned in the premise?
If you do not see a term shift between the premise and conclusion, that means theres some flaw or gap between the premises that makes the conclusion faulty. So, focus on the premises. Look for term shifts. Once you find it, find the answer choice.
Looking for the "new term" in the conclusion and/or premise and eliminating answer choices that way is pretty effective but don't depend on this for the harder problems.
If you're down to two and are really not sure, choose the "stronger" answer choice (unless the stimulus contains no strong language).
If you're dealing with a lot of conditions, diagram that shit. And find the missing link. Make sure to take note of the contrapositive as this tends to be the answer.
--------
so far in LR i've drilled SA, Main Point, and Complete the Passage and feel really comfortable with them. I'm moving onto NA packet today.
in LG, i've drilled relative ordering and that's a piece of cake. Moving on to simple ordering packet today.
i've been doing 4 RC passages a day and its going steadily.
I plan to take a PT this weekend to see where i stand.
hope everyone is doing well with their studies
EDIT: question--> I have a list of SA question's i've missed and complied them in a google doc. How often do you guys keep doing these problems?

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
Good morning friends, colleagues, simpletons.
Drilling 50 flaw Qs (before work), 10 games (at work, discreetly), and 16 RC passages (after work) today.
Tomorrow I'm taking PT 53-54 b2b, with a 15 min break in between. Then I'm going to a football game.
