I am currently reviewing SA questions . I go to 7sage it tells me SA are my worst - is it dumb of me to go to SA's in cambridge ? i've done them over multiple times. Should I stick to just reviewing the SA's I did wrong in my timed sections instead?

I'm having an internal debate on when switching from cambrdige to strcitly reviewing LR sections is the best thing to do.
''

Hi SA was one of my worst until I read a really helped post on LSAT Blog and then I drilled the Cambridge package and actively calssified the questions based on the patterns that LSATBlog listed in the post. For example:

A common pattern is ( which is really silly to be honest)

P

-----
C

SA: P--->C

Also understanding the direction of the Sufficient Assumption also helped me for example:

A--->B

-------
C--->B

Understanding that the sufficient assumption should be C--->A (or the contrapositive) rather than A---->C also helped alot.

All of this is covered in the LSATBlog post. http://lsatblog.blogspot.com/2009/12/su ... -tips.html

HTH

Side note: I promised myself that I would not spend too much time to TLS....FML been on this site for the past 35 minutes :oops:

Bill, you are demonstrating an impressive familiarity with the tropes of the rom com genre.

I love story time with smcc :) I met my man while dating a friend of his. We reconnected when we were both single and I was running a fundraiser for (no joke) obstetric fistula. It's 100% less romantic on all levels.

Omg it's so cheesy. I was reading at the table across from him and he was playing with his friend's dog. He noticed my lurking, and asked "do you want to make a new friend?" referring to the dog... anyway I said "YESSS!!!" (in my head) and "yeah, sure" IRL. Then we talked for like 2 hours. It was magical.

Hi all,

One question before I tap out for the day. Realistically, how long should it take to drill a Cambridge RC 1-38 packet. 1 day/ 2day etc. I know it depends on the person, so I am just looking for a guesstimate :)

There will probs be a RC passage about Rom Coms so this knowledge will be useful.

If RC is about Beyonce, Harry Potter, Nutrition Supplements and Rom Coms, we'll be 180ing

I'm unemployed (quit my job to study full time) so I literally have 24 hours.

Side note: I met my husband while shopping for shoes..met him on a Saturday while...hated him because he refused to give me a discount on a pair of heels..went to another store the next day to buy a dress and he was there as well....he helped me find a dress..he seemed nice. While I was in the dressing room trying on the dress he asked my friend for my number and texted me the next day to ask for a pic of me in the dress...he was sweet :oops: It turns out that his parents own a couple of clothing store in the country that I live in...how he's like my personal stylist..lol...lol...lol

All right so potential new employment is definitely limited. Definitely willing to jump ship ASAP though. My rent is high - $800 a month - and I live in a town of under 25,000. Not many good job prospects. I would just move home but my lease is an absolute bitch to break. I would be so down to be a bank teller for like 6 months. Is that bad?

A passage discussing a study of the (lack of) effectiveness of nutrition supplements might throw off a person or two

Don't kill yourself over a job you don't even need to keep to achieve your goals. Be a bank teller for 6 months.

If you are ever asked by a future legal employer why you quit, explain that it was an interesting job, but that the time demands were high. You enjoyed the fast paced nature of the role, but you needed a position with more flexibility while you focused on getting into law school.

If it's a good job, your future job interviewer will probably ask why you quit. As long as you have a reasonable answer (see above), you're fine.

1) flash this is totally enduring how u preface every post w "PLEASE RESPOND"

2) whats your process like for SA?

First of all, thanks GreenTee.

I say please respond because I am often ignored in this thread.

Anyway, my process for SA's is typically first of all to find the concl and premise, like all other LR basically, then I look for some sort of leap in the conclusion that is there. Often it will conclude something that involves going back into the premises and having to connect that some how to help it be 100 percent true. I find the answer choices are more often my downfall than finding the gap.

Sometimes its hard to distinguish what makes it 100 percent true from what just makes it very likely.

For example, pt 45, s4, q 22. I have been sitting for a while trying to definitely say why (C) is wrong and (E) is right. They seem to be basically the same answer to me for some reason. I'm looking at Manhattan and my brain honestly cannot comprehend whats happening.

I'm thinking the gap is that if its not played on the radio, they don't believe it will be profitable? But even then, this weird double negative in (E) and my inability to find whats wrong with (C) is super frustrating. This type of issue is unique for me in SA questions.

Fair enough--especially if you aim to go to big law, you indeed should have a few lines as to why you quit that don't make it sound like you won't be able to or won't want to keep up with crazy hours and a huge workload etc. But assuming you can come up with something that'll sound reassuring enough to future employers, I would guess you'll be fine.

Arrggghhh.... Don't even start this topic. I am moving to the US (NYC) in 3 weeks and have to look for a job but I have literally no idea what the US job market is like. I have an interviews lined up with a recruitment firm but I have not done much in-depth research (until after the Sept LSAT). I am nervous and excited at the same damn time.

How much do bank tellers even make? I worked in finance in my country, I have worked at banks (credit analyst) and corporate finance firms (finance analyst) so I am targeting banks/investment firms but I really just want a chill ass job. I am not down for doing too much until August next year but I am dead broke and need a job with a decent salary :?

Sorry to derail the threat. If anyone has insight give me a PM I would really appreciate it :wink:

No I literally have had the same thing every day for like 5 years. It's my crack.

I was taking an 8:30 am course one summer and would go to Second Cup (Canadian Starbucks) every day at 8:00 am, on my walk to class. One morning there was a tall, handsome stranger in front of me in line, and when he ordered his coffee, I was instantly and madly in love with him.

He was also addicted to coffee, and was there every morning around the same time. I developed an insane, irrational stranger crush on him. Every morning I'd get a little nervous, hoping he'd be there, sitting in his usual spot.

After my course was finished, I still went to Second Cup early in the morning, so that maybe he'd say hi.

Eventually he did, and now we're married.

FIN.

There's a guy on the 4th floor of my building who's insanely hot. Do you think if I stalk him like you did, I'll have a chance?? You know, just stand in front of his cubicle like...

I'm hoping for the best for you

This is really good. Thanks! One of the worst parts of my current job is that I am always on the road. My service area is 2400 square miles and I drive around 2000 business miles a month. It saps my productivity. I'm also looking at retail management jobs. Fundamentally I just need a job to generate enough revenue to offset my expenses - around $1100 a month.

C is wrong because it still allows for the possibility that there are recordings NOT played on the radio (some of which could be classic jazz recordings) which record companies believe will sell well on CDs.

E eliminates that possibility, which allows the conclusion to be properly drawn.

ETA: When approaching a tough comparison of two attractive answer choices like this, always begin by identifying the group to which the statements are referring. Answer choice (C) refers only to recordings "that are played on the radio." It says nothing of recordings that are NOT played on the radio, which is the gap in the argument core. (E) addresses that gap by eliminating it, and it is therefore the correct answer.
