Having to dig pretty deep today to get anything done. I took yesterday off (except for some very light LR drilling) Anyone else struggling?

Yeah, I am. I always just think its harder to make up lost ground from slacking than to just buckle down a bit and do some work to improve.hillz wrote:Having to dig pretty deep today to get anything done. I took yesterday off (except for some very light LR drilling) Anyone else struggling?
My psycho old basketball coach used to always tell us you're either getting better or worse, there is no stagnation.. I try to remember that when I feel like doing nothing LSAT related.

I'm taking another shot at writing a PS instead of taking a PT today. Would much rather take a PT than stare at the cursor.

How come your doing it now instead of while waiting for the sept score?hereisonehand wrote:I'm taking another shot at writing a PS instead of taking a PT today. Would much rather take a PT than stare at the cursor.

Took PTs on Saturday and Sunday, my scores are on target, and this needs to happen at some point...Colonel_funkadunk wrote:How come your doing it now instead of while waiting for the sept score?hereisonehand wrote:I'm taking another shot at writing a PS instead of taking a PT today. If I'm burnt out on studying but have extra time in my day that I don't want to use reading, I will brainstorm my personal statement. Same thing if I'm watching a movie, show, or football game. Also when I'm on conference calls. Won't start writing until the week after the LSAT, though.Colonel_funkadunk wrote:How come your doing it now instead of while waiting for the sept score?hereisonehand wrote:I'm taking another shot at writing a PS instead of taking a PT today. Definitely struggling.
I just finished reviewing PT67, and I'm really not happy about it, mostly because of my out of character LR performance. Here's the breakdown:
RC Exp (PT 40): -2
RC: -5
LR: -4
LG: -0
LR: -2
Scaled: 169
The experimental RC -2 gives me a bit of hope that I'm not totally illiterate. But !Kung on the real thing was a beast. I spent so much time on that passage that I barely finished the section on time, and still went -2 on it. Also, the questions for first passage on Tucker were deceptively difficult.
The fact that I went -4 on that first LR is really disheartening. I got 3 wrong in a row: 12, 13, 14. Did I temporarily fall asleep for 5 minutes in the middle of the section? I guess we'll never know.
-0 on games feels nice. I didn't find Zones to be all that challenging. It's a strange type and pretty open-ended, but not at all unsolvable.

LG question asked for how many other selections could be determined from a specific selection. I answered how many total. FML. Definitely seeing how being tired and passive knocked me down.

I feel ya on this one. It happened to me once a couple of months ago but I think I subconsciously check for that now. With any luck and much practice, it'll never happen to you again.BJS wrote:LG question asked for how many other selections could be determined from a specific selection. I answered how many total. Ouch. I took a test today to 1) See how I could handle two PTs in three days and 2) take the most recent test to use as a barometer for how much work I have to do. I have a long way to go. I don't think it is that the questions were new, because I've taken new tests or tests I don't remember and done just fine. I wonder if it psychological.
PT 72 86/101 168
RC -3
LR 1 -6 (This hasn't happened in a while and is really concerning, I just can't recover after a mistake like this)
LR EXP. -2 Finished in 25 minutes
LR 2 -3
LG -3
That last game...I had no idea how to do it. How are you guys prepping for this? It seems like there is just going to be a game that no one knows how to diagram...which throws off all my LG prep work.
I'm worried now. The LR mistakes are concerning and the LG craziness scares me.

That feeling when you have time left at the end of a section and end up changing a right answer to a wrong one.

Can we start a support group for those of us who might not make September?
My friends and family totally don't get it. They're like, "Just take it! Maybe you'll do better than you think!"

Can you give us diagnostic, cumulative average PT, average score over last 5 PTs, and score needed for target schools?sfoglia wrote:Can we start a support group for those of us who might not make September?

Have you already taken it once, lady? It sounds like you're doing really well and are on pace for September...sfoglia wrote:I probably will. 168 is my absolute floor to not retake, and I'll probaby retake anything below a 170. Really scared of doing that and having to delay my apps. I'll also be out of retakes after December.

Yeah, I'm terrified of September since it's my second take but I'm just gonna try to go in as confidently as possible and do what I can. My SO and family really don't understand why I want T-14. I'd love to be in a place where I'm taking Dec. just for a bigger scholarship.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
