I would say that if you have a compelling reason to write a "Why X" then do it; if you don't, I would say don't (at least before waitlist). I would be against forcing it.

Got an LSAC alert over the weekend, it looks like they have rescheduled the make-up exam for next Saturday. Does this mean I will be getting scores two weeks later than everyone else? Or do they expedite the scoring process for make-up testers?

I tend to agree. But what counts as a compelling reason? I would think stellar placement in the area you want to work wouldn't be good enough, particularly if it's a popular area like NYC. Maybe wanting to be in some particular clinic that differentiates itself somehow from the rest of the pack is good enough, or wanting to have a particular emphasis in something that is, for the most part, unique to school x's curriculum.

I took a makeup exam once. It was exactly one week later than originally scheduled. I received my score on the exact same date as everyone else.

I feel like as long as you make a decent effort it would be good because if you think about all the applicants in general, a bunch wouldn't even think of a "Why X" essay. But thats just what I think, could be completely wrong lol.

Higher underemployment rate than Stanford and Boalt (obvs), but also UC Davis and Santa Clara. I guess people just want it because it's actually in the city?

Yeah. That's why I was thinking that just making the effort might have some intrinsic value according to ad comms.

My SO was one of the October testers whose test was canceled for weather-his make-up was two weeks later as well, and he got his scores on the same day as everyone else. LSAC told him at the time that he "probably" would get them on the same day, but that they couldn't guarantee anything for make-up testers. So, it seems like you most likely will, but there's a chance they could be delayed.

It blows my mind that people don't consider the sheer amount of info that pops up should you have the incredible foresight of using google to research an investment of this caliber.

I think they do research, except the research is asking parents and maybe some older lawyers about becoming a lawyer. And most such people affirm it as a good choice. Even if they look into how much everything costs, they figure it should ultimately be beneficial due to hearing about the experiences of others who graduated in a different market.

Feel free to help us regain momentum by excessive shitposting and PWing

I tried to PW, but either I'm super ugly, or everyone was busy at the time. Either way it's someone else's turn

That's either extremely terrifying or awesome. Can't decide.

I'm not sure I have it in me to shitpost adequately... The standards have been set so high!
