I think immediately after the test and immediately before scores come out is worthwhile to read. People might want to see what others discuss following the test or how fast scores come once the icons switch colors and whatever else.rebexness wrote:no part of a waiters thread needs to be read after the fact.chizzy wrote:OP should change the "decembre" to "december" to make it easier for future december test takers to find.

Re: Decembre 2013 Waiters
I was pretty saddened to see my score at a 161. I got a -10 on RC and the saddest thing is that I got an ENTIRE passage wrong in questions, which screwed my score. It was the passage about developing innate skills or something. Every other passage I scored -1 on each. For LR, I got -15 across both sections. I've read the Manhattan/PS/Trainer books for LR but I didn't necessarily read each chapter and then drill, which I should have. I just drilled a few question types when I was done reading, which may have not been the most effective? I got -2 on LG which I guess is on the high side for me since I usually go 0 or 1 wrong.
I started prep during the summer and was scoring mid to high 160's by the end of august. I was supposed to take the october test, but I was busy with a lot of school and interviews so I switched my date and put off prep for a month. As I started reprepping, my score, particularly my rc score, was slowly declining.
Advice anyone? Should I look into taking a logic class to help my critical reasoning skills? Should I reread each chapter in the trainer/manhattan and then drill? Looking to come back stronger in June with a 168+

Try the LSAT Trainer. It helped me out a ton. It sounds like you are ok with games, and the LSAT trainer is best for RC and LR. I didn't really understand RC or LR until after I read the it. Great investment.

I read the LSAT Trainer about a month before taking the December test but I didn't really drill with it. I did the corresponding problems in pt's 52-57 but that was about it. I don't think I really had enough time to internalize the lsat trainer material.

Like a lot of others in this thread, long time lurker, first time poster here.
I sat for the first time in December and got 167. I realize that getting that score after only 3 months of studying is something I should be pretty happy about, but I am oddly disappointed. I am starting to think that reading TLS has warped my brain a bit so that I would have only been happy with 175+. Anyone else run into this?

I don't think it's that this website has warped your brain, but more so that it's made you realize your potential. If this was your first take and you spent 3 months studying to get that score, I would suggest a retake. With the right preparation on top of this base score that you've built, I think you can get a +175.mqoconnor wrote:Like a lot of others in this thread, long time lurker, first time poster here.

I think it warps everyone's brain both in bad and good ways. I got a 167 too and I'm kinda bummed (even though I'm in the 94th percentile, which is incredible). Not being as proud of that is bad. It makes you think that that kind of a score is average, when clearly it isn't.mqoconnor wrote:Like a lot of others in this thread, long time lurker, first time poster here.

What's good is that it pushes you to work harder. If you only studied for 3 months and got that score, first you have a lot to be happy about. Congrats! Second, I think it says you can do better and should push for it. But you are the only one who knows that. Do you feel like you can learn more and can improve with more effort? If you think you can even by a little, you should. You can save yourself hundreds of thousands of dollars by improving your LSAT score.

Thanks! Yes, I think I, and the same probably goes for both of you if you're feeling the same way I am, would be capable of doing better. The money aspect of it is the most tempting reason to retake for me. Personally I also need to adjust my thinking in terms of the long game. I'm lucky enough to have a not terrible, not difficult job now so sticking it out and maybe retaking in June is probably worth it.
It does make me feel a little less guilty about being so dissatisfied to hear that others in similar situations feel the same, so thanks for that.

Seems like they should send you a set of LSAC playing cards or something as an apology. Or just bump your score by a point or two....

Its crazy that you don't have your score yet. Did anyone else get a fee waiver from 'Bama with a $30 itunes gift card?

Hey, at least you got a fee waiver. I got an email inviting me to apply but explicitly telling me that this invitation did not count as a fee waiver.vicpin5190 wrote:ThetaX wrote:I got one too and am at their Medians fwiw.vicpin5190 wrote:I was just sent a fee waiver from Georgetown but my stats aren't really what I would think would merit a fee waiver. i guess i'll give it a shot. nothing to lose (except my pride)
I could just hear the trololol-ing as I read the email. Still going to try and solicit a waiver from them but suddenly not feeling too optimistic about it.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
