So if I retake in Dec, I may do an actual class. I have Manhattan, LSAT Trainer and Powerscore books, but I've been through all of them (most of them twice), and I'm thinking about a new approach (maybe not?).

I've heard some good things about Blueprint, Velocity and 7Sage. Any advice on those? Or just keep self studying?

One 175+ scorer LOVES Velocity.

I might try it. But, I understand Velocity's strength is games, and that's where I'm already strongest.

PourMeTea wrote:This was my first take. I've NEVER had any issues PTing, I can easily finish each section in 30min. I think on the real thing I was so nervous about not missing any information that I wasted time by reading and then re-reading the stimulus, and then realizing I didn't retain anything, so I would go back and re-read. It was horrible and I couldn't shake it off.

This is totally how my first take went. I had shaken it off by the second take though; just have to make sure you do lots and lots of PTs between and are in the zone come test day.

Checking in. Not all that sure about how I actually performed on test day, but I don't think I'll be satisfied with my score (< 170).

That said, I'm looking at supplementing the bibles with another set (particularly LR). What would you folks recommend: 7sage? Manhattan?

I'm so amped. Let's do this, guys!

I'm seeing an entire world of difference during this prep than in my previous preps.

All thanks to:

1. Reading the stimulus edit: question stem first.
2. Drilling.

LSAT Trainer was definitely worth it.

you're reading the stimulus before question stem?

Checking in.... Pretty sure I scored below my PT range. I can't believe I choked on LR, which is suppose to be my best section. First timers beware, the choke is real. It really can carry to your next section and screws up the whole test for you.

My bad. I mean the question stem first.

Reading the question stem first made a world of difference Saturday compared to reading the stim first.

LR1: -4
RC: -10
LG: 0
LR2: -2

Screw Prions, Caribbean Dancing, Being jelly if people make more money, and whatever the last passage was (I scrambled through that)..need to work on RC most definitely.

I have 4 weeks til the December exam.. I might even hold off til February or June even if I don't feel comfortable. I want to be absolutely sure because this will be my 3rd take. (June '12, Oct '13, Dec '13) and I'd have to wait a year to take it again right? or 2 years.

hi everyone, still waffling a bit about retaking, but i'm 60% sure i will be.

just got a 171 - unfortunately it's an international administration so we don't have our score breakdown, but i didn't finish at least 2 questions on the RC section and guessed on a bunch of AR so those will be the sections i need to focus on.

@tofuspeedstar: RC is easily the toughest section for me as well :( and this december will be my last chance, i think.

Got a 163, 4 points below my average and way below my usual (was scoring 168-171 at my best two weeks). Bought the Manhattan Books and gonna re-do powerscore.

Did anyone else have a last month drop off? My powerscore class finished and I was PTing at 168 and then it dropped to 166 and lower. I really think that was my biggest problem. Not gonna do that this time. Gotta keep drilling. And I'm definitely PTing with 30 minute sections.

Also, I caved and bought synchro-genesis :D

First try breakdown

LG -4 (lowest since two months freaked out that it was the first section)
LR -4 (ugh)
LR2 -6 (same as my diagnostic  )
RC -5 (lowest in a while )

Retaking 169 in Oct.

Average PTs going in were 165-167 with a 172 on one PT lol.

I wasn't even sure whether I should've been taking the Oct test since I didn't feel ready at all, but whatever. I had already paid for it anyways. LR is my weakest point by far. Felt like BP didn't help all that much or maybe I didn't pay close attention during the online lesson plans. Probably pick up Manhattan LR or LSAT Trainer now.

Gary wrote:Guys i need some advice whether I should retake or not:

I got my 174 back today and the breakdown was

My practice test average was about a 178 for PTs 155-169 and I've never scored below a -2 in RC. I think getting no sleep affected me the most during this section. I told myself that I would retake a 173 and be ecstatic about a 175 and of course like most people on TLS, I score right in between.

What do you guys suggest?

Also my dream school is Columbia and mylsn shows a lock with a 175 but a possibility for being waitlisted with my current score and gpa (above median). advice pleaseeeeeeeee :?

Try, apps are way down this year so that 174 could get you in.
