171/3.9 is acceptable if you have H aspirations. Just not obsessive H aspirations.

LG question ladies and gents- I used Manhattan for October '13, and it's good for a lot of game types (imho), but it really killed me on grouping.

Does 7sage help with this game type specifically?

I'm sure you will kill it in December. I'm glad I have some company from the Waiters thread in here :D

I think i've decided on taking PT38 (open to suggestions) Saturday and reviewing it on Sunday. Anybody want to join me for a group review on Sunday?

171/3.9 is perfectly acceptable if you dont have any HYS aspirations.

mhaas!!! i totally didnt see how you did in the massive cesspool of the waiters thread yesterday cus i was so busy freaking out, lol. what happened? pls pm if you dont want to post (:

167 :(

Totally botched the RC, but it's all good. I'm feeling good about December, and I'm ready to attack it head on. Are you retaking?

Is the difference between 170 and 171 so significant? It's just one question.

I scored -6 below PT mean, -4 below median  . -16 combined LR and I was averaging -5 or -6 combined..

Only did PS LG and LR the first time around. I feel like that's a mistake now. I ordered the recent Cambridge LR set, Manhattan RC and LR.

I keep telling myself that this will be more satisfying if I have to work harder for it.

Can any of you guys speak to the differences between The LSAT Trainer's approach to LR and the Manhattan approach to LR? I know Mike Kim worked for Manhattan and so I wonder if it's different enough to give it a shot. I attribute my vast improvement throughout prep in LR to Manhattan, but that -9 in Oct is just really getting to me (a -6 just on LR2!). I feel Manhattan's core approach can lead to some fairly informal analysis of arguments (outside of conditional/formal questions), and perhaps the informal nature of the approach is what can lead to sometimes erratic LR performance. I was a -3/-4 guy overall on average throughout PTing, but I did have a handful of scores like -6, -7 and -10. Outliers? Probably. But still happening way too often for my tastes. It should be noted that these outliers all came pre-60s.

Hello all,

Question for everyone. Do any of you have any particular posts, or personal knowledge you'd like to share in regards with reusing materials? I've read the value in retaking PTs, etc. But with a short time span, I'm trying to figure out how to flesh out the modern PTs. The issue is that I saw most of them so many times that I don't feel like its testing me properly. I know the adage goes that if you aren't scoring a 180 on them then you have more to learn, but I actually was scoring 180s, which isn't representative for me (obviously  ).

On the flip side, I'm burning up the older stuff, but I fear spending too much time on that might dull me to the nuances of the modern material.

Anywho, I was just wondering if anyone had any advice (from themselves, or others) they would like to share? I know TLS is a treasure trove of such gems, that aren't always easy to find via search.

Cheapest 7Sage option is $179, I believe. I thought it was fantastic, but if you're already getting the Trainer, I say focus on that. If you don't feel ready in time for December and plan on taking Feb, then maybe get 7Sage. Just don't go overboard with the new prep.

PM me if you have any questions about the course.

ETA Cheapest 7Sage full-course option is $179, not individual types.

I dont particularly have a lot of LR problems, mostly just miss little words while in auto-pilot. Just ordered trainer but if 7Sage is better than should I use that?

I think this may have been what happened to me. After missing anywhere from -1 to -4 on both LR sections combined during PT's, I missed 11 on game day. I think the adrenaline rush may have cause me to go too quickly (and carelessly). The new plan is to concentrate on taking sections with while practicing a relaxed and deliberate approach.

Checking in.

169 for Oct (first take). I scored a bit below my PT average, so I was pretty disappointed. Reeeeally wanted that 170+

-2 lg  /-3 lr1/-4 rc/ -4 lr2

While that -2 in lg is hard to swallow, the -7 total in lr is what really did me in... I'm always -0/-2, but I think the test day adrenaline led to some face-palming mistakes.

I gave myself one night to drink and sulk in self-pity, but now is the time to learn from the mistakes I made and use them to crush December!

3.88/ 167 (Oct. '13)

LG -6 ( -5 on Theaters)

LR1 -2

LR2- -5

RC -3

Tremendously dissapointed. Purchased Manhattan Bundle, LSAT Trainer, and will be using the 7 sage LG method to achieve the -0 on games that I need to take me to the 170's.

Hi guys,
I was mostly a lurker on the Oct waiting thread but I'm gearing up to retake in December and want to be more active. I just ordered the LSAT trainer. I'm also going to do way more PTs What's everybody else doing?
Also, I totally hate the test center I'm registered for in December, tiny desks. I'm going to check to see if I can change to something better. I'm in Los Angeles btw.

i took my oct lsat at southwestern which was a great center physically but had AWFUL proctors. taking dec at rio hondo. do some research on centers, they really make a difference.

I'm considering Rio Hondo as well after a terrible desk situation at UCLA. It's pretty far from where I live so advice re: hotel vs. getting up extra early?

I've heard that taking a test at a law school is a good way to go because the proctors are often students who understand how important the test is. FWIW, I've taken the test at Santa Clara's Law School both times and had thought everything was done well.

Fellow lurker, here. I'm thinking about ordering the Trainer. Pretty much every question I missed on 70 was due to careless errors, so I'm planning on drilling (to keep my stamina up) and spending extra time breaking down/analyzing question structure.

Luckily, I also have 7 fresh tests (58-64), so I will be taking 1 or two a week under loud testing conditions.

I took mine at CSUN. The proctors were decent but I did feel cramped having my answer sheet on top of my test book. People kept dropping their pencils and sharpeners too. I just looked up Rio Hondo, it's a bit of a drive but the reviews are good. I might change. Dosto...a big part of me feels the same though. Even though CSUN desks were small, I am familiar with the campus and there is something to be said for familiarity too.

I didn't think it bothered me either, but at this point (last time I am EVER taking this damn test) I'm taking no chances lol

Checking in from NorCal, registered at Walnut Creek Marriott after taking it at JFK in October. JFK was great, but WC is closer to home - wouldn't be upset to get moved to JFK again though. LSAT anxiety is setting back in, let's frickin' do this.
