Third take of 69 and actually scored less than the retake (168 to 175 to 173). I felt rushed on every section and I'm attributing it mostly to not PTing for 10 days. I think I've been pushing the 'take it lightly' motto too hard, particularly since I should know by now that I'm not one to respond with high scores due to taking it lightly - I need to stay fresh with stuff constantly or else I slow down.
A minor consideration is that I might be going too strict with the test day conditions, if that's possible? I'm not eating on breaks and I just take a few sips of water before the test and during the break. Should I assume that the proctor(s) won't let me drink water during it? They didn't in Oct. And while I am at a different test center for Dec, I believe it's standard policy. I especially feel the lack of drinking water during the 3rd and 5th sections.
"sir this is your first violation. drinking it not allowed in the testing room. if you do it one more time i will have to escort you out."
OMFG i was like SERIOUSLY ?! well i put down the water bottle immediately and said i'm sorry it won't happen again.
But year..don't bet on it...
Bajam: I had coffee earlier in the day, and that did not help. But I agree - going 'more than strict' can help too.
Coffee, more specifically, the caffeine in coffee is a diuretic. Diuretics encourage urination. Alcohol is also a diuretic, so don't rip shots within 12 hours of the LSAT.

good on you! I had to redo it, not because of any inherent complexity, but because I misdiagrammed the J in 4 rule, so my bad. What about 5 straight RC sections as a test? Re: December 2013 Retakers
Is it possible that I feel less prepared for December than I did in October? I was supposed to take a PT this morning, but chickened out because I didn't want to be discouraged by a lower score. I can't tell if I'm just psyching myself out or if I should actually just postpone...

Re: December 2013 Retakers
I think I may be burning out. Took 66 today and tied my lowest pt score (169) with sloppy errors on both LG and LR and my lowest ever RC score (-6) yet the PT itself seemed on the easier side if anything.
Taking Friday completely off and doing 70 saturday.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
A bit annoyed, yet again + i think I'm about to get sick. No improvement on PT 68, geez
Old score in parentheses
LG -2 (-2)
LR1 -1 (-1)
LR2 -1 (-0)
RC -4 (-5)
93/101 for 174. I got the same score on my first try too... fml....... I haven't seen score inflation in the past few tests. I don't now what this means.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
Also took PT70, first time since the actual administration with no review done. Old performance in ().
Score: 170 (166)
LR: -2 (-3)
RC: -3 (-5)
LG: -2 (-2)
LR: -5 (-6)
Second LR is insane. Had over ample time after 15 questions and then, all of a sudden, I ran out of time on last question. No improvement on LG is unnerving. Still, I feel this is how I would most likely have done on the actual exam had there not been extenuating circumstances. I suppose it's a little encouraging.

Bee, you are gonna crush 71 even if you're nervous and 180 fo sho if you keep 'em steady for 4 hours.dosto wrote:GOOD JOB B, going -0 on that second LR is no small feat. lr25q: -0 (-0)

Unfortunately drilling is not sufficient to get you over the nerves. Try to take it easy over the next ten (shit) days and don't stress out about LG (and don't start anticipating a killer game). There really is nothing else to say because you clearly have this in you, but you need to relax. No more war flashbacks. And remember to move on to another game/question if you hit a road block; it's obvious advice but easy to forget (as you just did) so get it tattooed or something.bee wrote:disappointed to see that even the crazed lg drilling ive done in the last few weeks cant really help me get over nerves

Yikes! The super prep LG was pretty tough for some reason. The problems themselves aren't out of control hard but they disguise what type of game it is/best set up so well. Went -3 on SPC and ran out of time on the last game .

I think the latter because some schools take a while to go complete but I am interested in what other people are doing.chizzy wrote:december test takers, are you all going to wait to apply till january? or would you submit your apps during christmas and then email the school to wait for your score?

Re: December 2013 Retakers
Just got my best PT score ever on a fresh test It was a 13 point curve, but whatever!
Dec 2004
LR 1 -3
RC -4
LR Exp. -3 (old test section)
LG -0 Second time in a row!
LR2 -4
90/99 173
Finally snapped my one bad LR section streak! Those -7s and -8s were killing my PT scores.
Anyone else just starting to get an intuition for questions on LR? Especially assumption questions and flaw. I can just read the stem and stimulus and find the answer choice that fits with little thought on it. Obviously I eliminate the other answers and check the answer word for word, but I'm really starting to get good at pre-phrasing.
Time to start lowering the amount of time per section I get on PTs

Re: December 2013 Retakers
I've searched around and found that many schools recommend submitting them earlier and then updating them when the score comes around because of the lag time between "submit" and "complete." Generally it could take anywhere between a week or a month(!) for them to gather all the parts of your application and process it, but if you submit your apps first, all that's left for them to do is input your new score.chizzy wrote:december test takers, are you all going to wait to apply till january? or would you submit your apps during christmas and then email the school to wait for your score?

I'm submitting the first week of January. I figured there is no real difference between mid-December/early-January (right?)
(Assuming I don't screw up 71...)

Re: December 2013 Retakers
i was thinking the same thing too but i spoke with an admissions officer from columbia and told him im taking the december test but he strongly advised me to submit them over the break/before rather than january because the applications take time to process. he says you just let them know you are waiting for your score.blackbirdfly wrote:chizzy wrote:december test takers, are you all going to wait to apply till january? or would you submit your apps during christmas and then email the school to wait for your score?
