getting back on the horse this week...
Gonna post a schedule as many of you have to keep honest, this is the home stretch so we need to motivate and keep each other on our toes with studying. Hope you guys help me out here:
Monday: Work my way through 2 of the RC LSAT trainer chapters. Light LG work on top of that, possibly 3-4 games untimed
Tuesday: PT 58 , review
Wed: PT 59, review
Thurs: Long work day, so just a chapter on RC in the trainer
Fri: Long work day, so just a chapter on RC in the trainer
Saturaday: Heavy LR drilling from cambridge

My PT schedule is basically conduscive to my work schedule, if Im off ill PT. Trying to stay honest to this schedule, we can do it!

Hi guys: Does anyone have any advice for re-taking tests? I have been re-taking timed sections and practice tests, but I have noticed that while I may not remember the exact answers to questions, I do recognize the content because it has not been that long since I first saw them (I took the October test). My scores have been really good High 170s or low 170s, and when I do timed sections I usually get anywhere from 1 to 3 wrong max. I just don't know how to read these results. On the one hand, I don't want to consider it a complete fluke because I have been consistently studying mistakes and drilling sections after already studying for over a year. But I also can't help but think I am only doing well because I saw everything already. Any thoughts on this? I am not expecting to score exactly the way I am doing now on the real test in December because I realize that it's probably a bit inflated, but I was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same thing and/or how to put these results into perspective. Thanks!

I have a similar question-- I was watching the internets and came across a video of a guy who claims he scored a 180 partly because he took 3-4 practice tests in preparation. He only had 20ish practice tests and ended up re-taking all of them throughout his prep, claiming that repetition helped him recognize the question types. This sounds a little crazy to me -- but if it works, I'll do it.

Grouping games are actually killing me. PT42 Game 4 makes so little sense to me.

Stop it. There's no panic for the test. You've got a stellar PT average and, again, you'll get an improved arrangement of sections on test day. They can't throw three straight LG sections at you arbitrarily and just forget about the RC section.

Thank you, blackbirdfly. That's what I was planning on doing.

Another question for anyone. Has anyone who took the October Test re-taken it? I want to do that before the December test, but was wondering how that would work if I didn't have explanations to look at it when I get things wrong. Any ideas?

I suggest reasoning through the arguments yourself and writing your own explanations, then coming back to ask around here for reference. If you fill the gaps yourself, you're more likely to increase your skills.

 This is why I don't look at my calendar anymore. That and last week I was checking the time for a party Sat and for some reason my calendar was in December and I almost had a heart attack when I saw LSAT plastered all over my day.

+1 Writing my own explanations has been incredible useful for reinforcing my reasoning methods.

dosto wrote:Don't usually do this, but apparently this is the thing to do post-retake so

LG -0 (-1)
LR1 -1 (-2)
LR2 -3 (-6 plus one missed bubble so -7 for all-time low  )
RC -1 (-4)

96/101 176 (87/101 168)

LG was a dumb mistake and my RC is much improved now that I actually pay attention. LR mistakes were all exact repeats, and the rest were careless, sloppy mistakes (lost focus).

Going to prep for 71 as if it will continue the easy LG, average RC, tougher LR trend. Drilling LR should hopefully reinforce good habits so they don't ditch me on December 7th.

eta and I apparently I had the admirable/misguided question correct after all.

Good work, Dosto. Glad to see that high confidence is back...as it should be. I think you're right about 71 btw, so you're ready to roll.

You guys are all fine, I don't even know why I check this thread...

lol Bee, chillax, breh. 4 week is a lifetime, seriously. I told you I'm going to keep you mellow.

I crashed SO hard last night after all that caffeine, btw. Woke up ready to rock though, crushed some sashimi for lunch, and took a good espresso at a new cafe run by two Frenchmen serving good food. The stuff of life. Made my afternoon. ;)

I'm so incredibly not worried at all for you, it's comical, Bee.

Thanks, Flan.

Followed your advice and drilled 60 NA questions this morning.

It was not pleasant.
It's really not. It feels like forever, but takes only an hour. Knowsthafeel. Read the post by "Strange" in the "How I got a 160+ thread" if you need motivation to keep bruising.

Btw, I did infinitely worse on October LR than June (-2 w. minimal study), but that was purely due to an egregious and avoidable timing miscalculation on my part.

BUT the confidence I had going into October for LR was through the roof after drilling and it will be yours! Plus, your stamina will be straight Lance Armstrong in a week. I'm cheering all you guys on to crush it, and you're so on the way. Get excited.

OMGGGG CONGRATS
Oh, look, she realized she's actually smarter than she thinks. Again, wasting time reading your updates, guys....;)

I noted the wordiness of 70 LR during the test, and really think the early 1-38 cambridge drills might help with that (as miserable as they are).
