Stuck on LGs - Desperate

So I am stuck on analytical reasoning. The big problem for me is timing, when PTing I often feel like I want an extra 2-4 minutes to finish comfortably. I read the logic game bible a couple months ago when I started studying and then I did all the 19-39 games by type, and then drilled them as sections, and then drilled the ones I had trouble with multiple times as individual games, then drilled them as sections again, etc. I have done all those games 4-8 times now depending on how hard they are. I have started doing the same with the games from 40-69 (except for the few PTs I haven't taken) and have drilled through them at least once now. Also I have been watching the 7sage videos if I have trouble.

Basically I feel comfortable with games and rarely get stuck but I am slooooow. And I usually make at least one stupid/careless mistake per section, even if I have done that section multiple times. I am starting to panic :(

I have taken about 25 full practice tests so far and have only ever gotten -0 on LGs once. My scores are pretty good too, only one sub-175 in the last 10 full tests but I am still mostly missing 2-4 questions on each LG section.

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas for speeding up? Anyone think I can practice enough in the next two weeks to make taking October a good idea, or should I start thinking about Dec....

Wait, you are currently scoring around 175 and feel desperate? That doesn't make rational sense. Calm down, you are scoring near perfect missing only a handful of questions per test. Just be a little more careful and concentrate a little harder when you encounter hard problems, but mainly just calm down and stop freaking out since you should be happy and confident right now not in a desperate panic.

Geeze, freaking out about missing a few and getting stuck at 175, only on TLS...

OK so youre prob right thanks. I probably wouldn't be worried if I hadn't read over and over again that LG should be a guaranteed -0 before you take the test etc. Still hoping for any constructive advice on LG timing beyond "concentrate harder".

Look for shortcuts to questions based on work/the answer from other questions. There are always several shortcuts in each section if you look for them and they can save you a few minutes by cutting down on the amount of work you have to do to solve a few questions. You can easily save 3-5 minutes or more just with that, giving you the extra time you feel you need.

PS: Sometimes the work from an "If" local condition question will provide a shortcut(s) to previous questions in the game so it is more efficient to work the local condition "If" questions before the global questions (with the exception of the list question, always do that first).

Try that strategy and it'll probably solve your problem since you're only talking about missing 2-4 questions overall in the section due to time. Shortcuts can be super time saving when the work from an easier question partially or fully solves a harder question that would have taken a lot of work to solve from scratch. When you find those shortcuts they are gold since they can help you really sail through the section with lots of time to spare due to not getting stuck on a few hard questions that otherwise would have slowed you down.

Just make sure you know how to properly use hypos/answers from one question on others in terms of process of elimination and such so you don't mess it up.
