Something a bit more lighthearted than the usual topics in this forum, but what are some of the best snacks you can have on test day? Ideally, it needs to be something heavy enough to keep you from getting hungry during the second portion of the exam, but light enough not to leave you in a coma-like state afterwards.

Almonds, a banana, and an energy bar work for me. Maybe some NeuroSonic or a half a RedBull too. Remember, you only need to be functioning for 1:10 after the break, so even if you spike your sugar a bit, any crash will probably come after.

Anything that will keep you energized long enough that you can drink immediately after the test.

I'm pulling out some GU from my running stash. I'll probably bring real food too though.

Last time I had a banana, protein bar, and a smidgeon of water during the break. Coupled with the oatmeal breakfast I had prior to the test, I don't remember ever being even remotely hungry.

operative word: smidgeon. When I'm PT'ing I'll get up if I have to pee real bad. Something to think about for test day...

Usually I get up as well. But a couple times I've just powered through the intense feelings to piss....and my section scores dropped a point or 2 below normal, so the best bet is to drink with caution.

Both of y'all should start holding that shit at all other times during the day until you absolutely have to go. It helps, trust me.

I'll probably have a cliff bar along with a banana.

Well, it's particularly bad with coffee (and beer), which is why I'm not bothering with coffee on test day.

I think a cliff bar and banana sounds good to me. That's something I'd eat before the gym, anyway - it's light enough not to hinder you but sufficient for energy.

Avoid juice too. Really any amount of beverages beyond a sufficient amount of water should be avoided unless you absolutely need coffee or an energy drink and have been practicing holding your bladder.

I have had beer while drilling Cambridge. Never tried it during a PT though. There were no negative effects while drilling.

I like beef jerky and a dark (anything between 60-70) chocolate.

That's pretty much what I've always had for standardized tests.

I'm not planning on eating anything. Power/protein bars are more likely to get me sick than help me, and I don't care much for bananas. Maybe I'll just bring a chocolate bar.

That's why I'm bringing running food. Outside of one day a year I don't go that long without eating unless I'm also asleep :/
