If you haven't drilled cambridge LR sets, you're doing it wrong

PT50 Yesterday - took 40 minute sections - trying to get more accurate before narrowing down to 35 minute sections. -3LG/-7LR/-10RC = 162

Completely bombed an RC passage. I haven't been through the LSAT Trainer's RC sections but will start today, hope to narrow RC down to -2 to -4 on test day! Less worried about LG and LR, which I think I can narrow down with much less effort. Off to study now!

Checking in. Just found out my reschedule date for December is not feasible with my schedule, so February here I come.

Im taking PT 50 this weekend. Getting RC down definitely involves doing LOTs of passages. Like all of them

What kind of approach did you use besides doing a lot of RC?

Messed up on one of the logical reasoning sections on the December exam.... nerves got to me...so I'll be checking in to take the February LSAT. For those who took the exam this month, have you guys already signed up for the February LSAT or are you still waiting for your December scores to come out ?

For some reason I think I got lucky on that passage - bankruptcy law did me in. I guess this helps me know which practice group I should avoid one day!!

How do we feel about the time between taking a PT and reviewing it? Sometimes I review immediately after; other times I don't have time or don't feel like it and wait a few days, sometimes up to a week. Anyone have any recommendations?

For any of you worried about applying for Fall 2014 with a February score, Harvard law just emailed me and explained they will be extending their application deadline because of so many issues with Decembers cancellation/rescheduling due to weather. Here is the link as well

Hopefully, many other schools will proceed to do the same.

Yeah, I'm considering taking advantage of this as well. I took December, and know that I didn't do as well as I should have on it. (Think low 160s). Unfortunately, that was my score range at the time of the December test. I do want to apply this cycle, and I'm hoping that I can take advantage of the bad weather extensions during the Dec admin (even though my center was unaffected), and retake February, and apply this cycle. With 7 weeks of full-time studying, is it feasible that I can improve to a 168+ by February?

My plan is to go through Manhattan (which is fresh for me), review the Trainer, and take the 4 fresh modern PTs that I have left. If not, there's always June and reapplying next cycle ED. Wish me luck!

Are either of you considering canceling your December scores? I am contemplating canceling and retaking in Feb, granted I can improve 6+ points in 7 weeks. I heard that most T14s take your highest score, except for YHS, but I see that for most elite upper T14s like CCN, having multiple scores is a detriment. Any feedback would be appreciated!

All Star, I really have no idea how I did on the exam, but I know i didn't do better than my avg PT score. I went to the restroom during one of my sections, and even though I got back extremely quickly it somehow made me draw a mental blank and messed with my nerves a lot. I have a good feeling I messed up and did horribly, but for some reason I'm not going to cancel. Hoping for the slight off chance that I did decently on the exam. Just registered for February though.

I don't know how schools view multiple scores--and I"m not talking about 165-170 or 171 then 179 --I mean scores with huge differences.

sorry to butt in as im (HOPEFULLY) not retaking feb, but my advice would definitely be to review asap. i mean, the same day. my process:

1. pt
2. blind review (if you havent been doing this, do it now. the single best thing i ever did for my prep was blind review)
3. review carefully, writing out thorough explanations for why you got a question incorrect. i'd suggest also writing out explanations for questions you ALMOST got incorrect. the goal here is to become very conscious of the flawed thinking that got you to pick the wrong AC.

by waiting a long time to review, you will forget the little nuances of thought that went into each q. it isn't nearly as effective as reviewing right after you pt (ime).

will try this, thanks. it could also help address stamina issues if you're used to thinking about LSAT questions a few hours longer than required to on test day.

Fantastic news, thanks for posting. Anyone emailed Stanford to request to submit an application late?

"Applicants who are unable to take the test until the February 2014 administration must submit a formal written request for an exception to our policy prior to transmitting an application. Such requests must be sent via email to the Office of Admissions and will be considered on a case-by-case basis."
