What are you February test takers reading during prep? For the humanities people, I recommend Hume's history of England. It will no doubt take you back to a time before the LSAT existed.

I've realized that when I split an LR section into halves (12 / 13 or 13 / 12) and take a two minute break there's not only a significant improvement in score but also much more time to spare after Q 25. As of right now, my mind needs that mental break to re-focus.
I think of the LR like two small sections. The first 15 I try to get done in 10-12 minutes then for the last 10 questions I have 25minutes. Having 25 minutes for the last 10 questions is GREAT and that alone brought my average down to like -6 from -10
Hey, do you usually work from beginning to end in order, or do you do the first fifteen and then work backwards from 25/26? I only ask because the last few questions are such time drains (*shakes fist at parallel flaw questions*). I'm right at the 35 minute mark for LR, and I'm worried that during the actual test, I'm gonna go over time.

I work from beginning to end. I used to be around the 35min mark, but I worked really hard on doing the first 10 so fast that now I finish the whole section in like 25min sometimes. Drilling level 1 and 2 questions helps because the first 10 are usually very easy.

First day back was awesome. I missed the LSAT like a man away from his wife. Anyone take a break from the LSAT and come back with an improved logical intuition? I don't know if it happened but I'm feeling it

Yup. This happened to me with LG. Study, take a 2 day break, come back even better.

I would like to learn this method. Please teach me how to not study but still improve and be awesome?

I want to add that my break was about three months, or a semester in college. It may be that my logic course helped, or it may be that taking eighteen credits sharpened me up a bit.

But I can feel the force haha

Every time I am about to get into the 170s lo and behold I get -9 in RC. Fuck RC. Tips? Maybe I'm not reviewing well enough.

RC=logical endurance, you should be thinking more than you're reading.... if that makes sense 8)

So... what's everyone using to stay alert/awake? Sometimes I am in a complete mental daze... I have been trying to cut my coffee intake down (used to be at least 4 or 5 cups throughout the day). I'm getting an hour of studying before work and then however many hours I can put in at night to still get in 6 hours of sleep. I eat really healthy and run every day. Ideas?

Five hour energy is the most accessible, legal, quick fix. But, I would look into supplements or nootropics. Though I'm inexperienced and unfamiliar with them, they seem to be the new thing.

I personally am a one coffee in the AM and one Coffee in the PM type of guy. LG usually stimulates my mind enough to get me through the drudgery of drilling LR.

I've looked into a ton of vitamins/supp, but the evidence just isn't there. I eat a plant based diet so originally I thought I was deficient (b12, etc.), but I just got a ton of blood work done and it's fine.

I don't really want to delve into the adderall/nuvigil realm...

Does a Five Hour Energy make you anxious/jittery?

First time poster. I'm looking for a study partner to work with for the February Test.

My background: I took the December test after PTing in the 166-171 range and do not think I hit the golden 170. If anyone is interested, PM me.

Five hour is kinda sketchy. It doesn't make you jittery but its tough on the heart.

Re-started my prep today for the retake in February. I'm doing more LR Drilling and throwing in LG and RC everyday. Taking 1 PT a week for 2 weeks, then 2 for 2 weeks, then every other day until a few days before February.

Just got done taking a PT and got my all time high 168. I also agree, do what you have to do to avoid fatigue. For me it was diet coke, but I'll probably bump it up to pre-workout or something like that once my tolerance for caffeine goes up.

I'm going to start working out. Even if it's just 45mins or an hour per day.

Now that I'm on winter break I've started drilling LG in earnest. Not going well. It took me 52 minutes to get through a section and I still had to guess on one and got another one wrong on top of that. </3 games

And then right after that I finished a section in 33 minutes with -0. Talk about inconsistency... that one had a couple weird games though so I don't think it's as representative unfortunately.

I honestly think getting good at games is all about doing as many as you can. After you do about 100 of them they start to become intuitive.
