Took my second PT (for this take), PT 59. No missed questions. I've been debating doing February over December, but given that I haven't done any actual studying and just jumped back into tests, I'm feeling like I'm in a pretty decent place and could potentially be ready in time for December. I wonder how much of that is just familiarity with the test though.

I didn't automatically know right answers for any Qs, but I think just recognizing stimuli can give you a boost. Although in the past (studying for my second take, and the PT I took last week for this take) it has also hurt me, as I'll tend to remember "Oh, I got this wrong! I definitely chose D last time, so I should go with C", and then that ends up not being the case and I just screw myself. I'm trying to use those moments where past knowledge could help/hurt to force myself to really, really process Qs though, as in forcing myself to break down each AC with the thoroughness I would do during my blind review in order to know that I'm deciding based on the actual questions instead of my familiarity with the test. Which has actually been a good learning experience, and something I didn't really attempt to do on my last take.

Okay, I'm rambling. Moral of the story: I think people retaking tests can balance out the advantage they'd have by recognizing material by (counterintuitively) slowing down on the Qs they recognize most. It really trains/reinforces your LSAT thinking processes, and it helps mitigate the speed benefit of familiarity.

Did another LG section today, -0 again. Then did 4 timed RC sections from PT 55. -5 total, spreadin -0, -1, -3, -1. So i'm making steady improvement in RC both in Time (all except #3 which was 10 minutes were between 7 to 8:45) and accuracy. Just need to improve on those tough passages. Happy to see the RC is catching up.

Then drilled some flaw questions, though i was pretty tired today so i only did about 10 level 3's. Got most of them right but hopefully tomorrow will be better concentration.

TMDLG, didn't you get a 175 on the June exam? Why are you even considering sitting out this cycle with such a high score on file?

I'm not sitting out this cycle, I'm just preparing for the possibility of being waitlisted at my top choices, and I want to be able to negotiate scholarship money.

That, and I have nothing to do now that I'm done with my law school applications.

Today it's mostly timed individual RC passages, re-doing individual games I didn't get perfect on in 8:45, and timed LR sections. Tomorrow, I'm heading to the library and taking my first fully timed preptest in a few months.

I wrote out a schedule based upon where I believe I am at in the process and in anticipation of taking the test in December. I've already read most guides multiple times, so basically it's just getting on the grind and staying consistent. Feel free to critique or even follow. The order of preptests are mixed up so that I am seeing most of them around the same time and not waiting until the end to see the latest ones.

October
First week - Timed RC passages & LR sections, re-do LG games, PT (52)
Second week - Timed RC & LG sections, redo RC & LR passages, PT (61)
Third week - Timed sections, redo weak sections (not 100% and/or on time), PT (53)
Fourth week - Timed sections, Drill, redo weak sections, PT (60)

November
First week - PT (54), review, PT (59), review, PT (55), drill
Second week - PT (58), review, PT (56), review, PT (57), drill
Third week - PT (69), review, PT (62), review, PT (68), review, PT (63), review, drill
Fourth week - PT (67), review, PT (64) review, PT (65), review, PT (66), review, drill

December
First week - PT (lowest scoring) @ test center, review, drill, redo weak sections (52-69)
2 days before test - PT review (52-69), drill, timed sections (52-69) @ test center, leave TLS
1 day before test - Workout, Sauna, massage, movies, relax
0 day before test - Eat a good breakfast, get to test center early, score a 180
Second week - Request Final Transcripts & Dean's Certifications
Third week - Revise & complete all statements, come back to TLS
Fourth week - Revise & complete all applications, request fee waivers and/or pay application fees

January
First week - all applications complete

I just took the oct test, and to tell you the truth I don't think I did that great. I choked on RC and I got drained after doing 3 LR which hasn't been my strongest section. I'm definitely happy I took it though cos I'm going to assume that it's a diagnostic (stupid idea I know) but I'm using the experience to study for dec 7 test. 165+. I considered my self part of the dec thread but that will start tomorrow after I get wasted tonight.

Embrace the darkness.

Probably sometime this coming week. I think my "shakiness" over today's test will actually make it a bit easier to dive back in.

Does anyone have advice for getting the timing aspect down on the PTs?

*It's taking me about 15-18 minutes per game, but usually every one is 100%. (so I skip 1-2 games per PT)
*It's about 12 minutes per RC passage, and I'm getting around 3-4 wrong per passage. (I skip around 1 passage per PT)
*It takes me about 2 minutes per LR passage and I get about 10 wrong per section on those too.

I've been studying with Blueprint sense July. I work 24 hours a week, go to school full time and that takes up 3-4 days with homework involved too. I get in on average 12 hours a week of LSAT studying, but my PT's are still around 145-150, which suck balls.

Sucking hot air here, any productive advice is appreciated.
